Thomastown, Melbourne: Man charged over fatal stabbing as police hunt for his suspected accomplice

A man has been charged over a fatal stabbing at a Melbourne home as the manhunt continues for his suspected accomplice.

Police found an unconscious 36-year-old man with stab wounds at a house on Victoria Drive in Thomastown, in the city’s north, at 8.40pm on Thursday evening.

The man from Doreen died at the scene, despite attempts at resuscitation.

A 45-year-old man from Glenroy who was arrested at the scene has since been charged with aggravated burglary, theft and assault.

He was due to appear in Melbourne District Court on Saturday.

Homicide detectives are still searching for a second man involved in what they suspect was a targeted attack.
