Antonio Conte’s future at Spurs remains uncertain with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.

The Italian’s work has come under scrutiny following a poor run of performances and results, with Spurs most recently succumbing to a 2-0 defeat by north London rivals Arsenal on Sunday.

Conte’s existing contract expires in the summer, although the club has the option to extend it by 12 months.

However, all parties understand that it would be counterproductive to activate the extension if their visions for the club are not aligned.

Tuchel won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021 and remains a popular figure at Stamford Bridge, with Blues fans chanting his name during their recent loss to Man City.

The German enjoyed living in London and was even linked with taking the England job after the World Cup, but the FA decided to keep their faith in Gareth Southgate.

Tuchel is understood to be learning Spanish as well, which would indicate a possible move to a club in La Liga, a league in which he has yet to manage.

The 49-year-old previously worked in the Bundesliga, notably for Borussia Dortmund, and in Ligue 1 with PSG before moving to the Premier League.

His Chelsea tenure ended just 100 days after Todd Boehly took ownership. Sportsmail reported at the time that Tuchel was being paid £13m as a severance package, with a further £2m going to his backroom staff.
