This Xbox Series X and PS5 Souls-like game gets its performance confirmed

Waiting for Wo Long: fallen dynasty isn’t too long now. The performance specs of the open-world souls have been officially confirmed by developer Team Ninja. The game will be released on March 3.
I’ve had my eye on this Xbox Series X and PS5 title since Team Ninja unveiled it back in the summer. From the gameplay I’ve seen, it seems like the perfect mix of Ninja Gaiden‘s fight combined with dark souls’ trademark boss design and exploration. Thankfully, performance for such a big game on both current and previous generation consoles looks encouraging.
You have two graphics modes with Wo Long: fallen dynasty on both PS5 And Xbox Series X. These are Resolution and Performance. Both options will run this Souls-like at a target 60fps, but with Performance as a priority, the resolution will be lowered to opt for a higher frame rate.
It has not been described by Team Ninjas official list of technical achievements whether or not the game will include ray tracing or other enhanced fidelity options at this time. However, if this intensive lighting technique is part of the game, it would most likely get closer to 30fps when a recent game launches like Empty space last month are any indication.
Previous generation consoles also get Wo Long: fallen dynasty but you can expect significantly reduced performance for the now ten-year-old Xbox One And PS4. That’s because this hack and slasher has been confirmed to run at 30fps regardless of the resolution output.
While the Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro are capable of pumping out 4K footage, but with no frame rate performance boost. It is worth noting that the developers have stated that Wo Long: fallen dynasty ‘target’ at 30fps, so it remains to be seen how consistent this title will be on the aging hardware.
Wo Long: fallen dynasty seems to be one of the more ambitious Souls-esque games I’ve seen in recent years. It seems to me an evolution of the No And Ninja Gaiden franchises with the signature ferociously fast and relentless combat you’ve come to expect from Team Ninja. What’s especially exciting if you’re thinking about picking it up on Xbox platforms is that it’s coming Game pass And GamePass Ultimate on day one with only a few weeks to go.
