This simple three-ingredient laundry trick will make your old white clothes look bright and new again

A cleaning professional has revealed her fail-safe trick for making dull, white clothes look new again.

Chantel Ibbotson, also known as Mama Mila, showed how to ‘say goodbye to dirty white people’ with a homemade three-ingredient mix.

The mother-of-two from Melbourne grabbed a white T-shirt that had turned a gray tint from wear and placed it in a bowl of warm water.

She then added a quarter cup of hydrogen peroxide and a cup of baking soda to the bowl and stirred it to make sure the entire shirt was soaked.

Chantel uses hydrogen peroxide to ‘brighten and disinfect’, while baking soda also helps to brighten and deodorize the skin.

If a shirt has an oil-based stain, she recommends adding a teaspoon of dish soap to the mixture to remove the stain.

Hydrogen peroxide can be purchased from online cleaning suppliers such as Good Clean Health Co and MyDeal.

The versatile chemical has a multitude of functions, from dyeing hair to disinfecting surfaces.

The home hacks guru then soaked the shirt in the formula for an hour or two and then popped it in the washing machine as usual.
