Apple Music is easily one of the best music streaming services you can use, but there's no doubt that it has its fair share of annoyances. Now, however, a new app has emerged that could solve one of the biggest problems with Apple's music app.
iOS developer Feel Good Tech's Rewind app lets you recover music and playlists you accidentally deleted from your Apple Music library. That can save you hours of rebuilding, especially if you've lost a playlist with hundreds of songs.
The developer describes Rewind as “like Time Machine, but for Apple Music.” That's because it lets you back up playlists, songs, and music videos from your Apple Music library so you can restore them if the worst happens.
Rewind is free to download and use, but has a paid Ultra tier with automatic backups that work in the background, saving you the hassle of manually backing up yourself. Ultra is a one-time purchase, so there is no recurring subscription.
Improve Apple Music
Similar to Time Machine, Rewind lets you go “back in time” to view previous versions of your Apple Music library that you've backed up. Additionally, the developer notes that you can delete music and playlists with confidence, knowing that you can restore them if you change your mind.
Rewind is just one of many great apps that make Apple Music a whole lot better. SongCapsule, for example, builds custom, algorithmically driven playlists that help you rediscover forgotten gems in your library. In the meantime, with MusicHarbor you can follow your favorite artists and stay informed about concerts and new releases. There are even apps that completely revamp Apple Music's user interface, including Marvis and Soor.
And while you might hope you never have to use Rewind, its handy backups can help prevent disaster. If you think you're accident prone, it might be worth a look.
