The cast of This Morning have revealed their holiday plans for this year ahead of the special Christmas Day episode airing on December 25.

Holly Willoughby, Philip Schofield, Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary have shared who they’re inviting, what food they plan to make, and how the show’s celebrity chefs have provided key recipes and tips.

It comes as the ITV show is scheduled to return to ITV screens for a special Christmas Day episode, which will be the first for Dermot and Alison since taking over regular presenting duties.

speaking to MirrorHolly admitted that as she looks towards New Year’s resolutions, she is thinking about the challenges she will face as a mother.

“Looking ahead to the coming year, I’m sure any parent would say that each year brings new challenges…” she said, adding: “I’m looking forward to what comes with them and seeing who they’re becoming.” were to be

‘My eldest son is 13 years old and the relationship changes enormously. They sit at the table with you and you are talking about things that are not just about what they did in school, but about how they see and see the world. I’m really enjoying it.

“I’m enjoying this phase and seeing all those things you put in place throughout their early childhood years suddenly blossoming. I can’t wait for more of that and be a bit of a bystander with a helping hand.’

He went on to explain that he will be using Phil Vickery’s recipe for his turkey and all the trimmings.

And on Boxing Day, she’ll cater to her husband Daniel Baldwin’s Italian relatives with meat and cheese spreads and sample a Tortellini at Brodo, as well as hearty fish pie and meatloaf.

Alison talked about her cooking plans, adding that she’ll be hosting co-star Josie Gibson and her little one.

When it comes to Christmas traditions, Philip said he likes to be a little bit colder, and that the time of year makes people kinder to each other.

And she admitted that her daughters, now 26 and 28, are still ‘Christmas demons’ and will put an oat arrow on the lawn to make sure Santa doesn’t miss home.

Dermot said he thinks London “comes alive” at Christmas, but he also enjoys York at that time of year.

She added that she has joined her parents in Ireland for long walks along the coast despite the cold weather.

The cast’s pre-recorded show will air on Christmas Day at 10am with plenty of festive treats in store.

Phil said Sun of the festivities: “There are often some pressies during the Christmas show as well which are always fun and we’ve got some really fantastic guests this year…and hopefully we’ll be able to eat and drink some tasty stuff too.”

Dermot said: ‘This will be my first real Christmas Day show for This Morning! I am very excited. I love Christmas, I love the food, I love the family getting together, the whole ritual, so I love that we do that here too.

Co-host Alison added: ‘You’re going to love it! We’ll be on TV on Christmas Day with Phil and Holly and I love it when the This Morning family gets together and it’s all festive.
