ITV’s This Morning is to deploy more health experts to help reduce UK hospital waiting lists.
Every day over the next week, the primetime program will feature specialists in their fields as guests who will report on the public’s health issues and concerns.
The show is intended to help people who are already on the excruciatingly long waiting list, and to give others general tips and advice.
A source said The mirror: ‘It is clear that people are still struggling to get an appointment, so we want to provide as much advice as possible to help while people wait or to help anyone who has questions about treatments.
‘If time is specifically set aside for it every day and there are experts to help you, it will be a lifeline for many.’

Every day for the next week, the primetime show will feature specialists in their fields to discuss the public’s health issues and concerns
Experts appearing on the show include cardiac surgeon Steve Westaby and bowel expert Dr Saliha Mahmood Ahmed.
Dermatologist Dr Emma Wedgwood will also be present for those seeking help and advice from skin specialists.
Gynecologist Dr. Nitu Bajekal will also discuss women’s health.
Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle present Beat The Waitlist week, with regular presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley taking a seven-week break, just four months after landing the job.
The new presenters have been guests on ITV’s daytime programme since March 11 and are said to receive an annual salary of £555,000.
Now they are gone for almost two months because of the show’s annual summer break, during which time guest presenters are hired to lead the show.
Friday favourites Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary opened their summer shows in July.
In addition to Josie and Craig, Rylan Clark, Rochelle Humes and Joel Dommett will also take a seat on the bench.

It is also thought that dermatologist Dr Emma Wedgwood will be on hand for those seeking help and advice from skin specialists

Beat The Waitlist week is presented by Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle, while regular presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley (pictured) take a seven-week break, just four months after landing the job
As they leave, a rotation of guest presenters will be brought in to lead the show in their absence, with fans particularly excited about Craig Doyle, who will co-host with Josie Gibson
New mother Sian Welby is also returning to the broadcaster after having her daughter Ruby in June.
According to the British Heart Foundation, waiting lists for heart care are now higher than ever. At the end of March, they stood at almost 415,000, almost double the waiting lists in 2020.
Ben and Cat return to ITV’s flagship daytime programme on 2 September, while Alison and Dermot will be back on the Friday night show from 6 September.
