This mobile gacha game finally had its release date announced, as well as its end of service, in the same post

Expect mobile gacha game, Love life! School Idol Festival 2 Miracle Live finally the release date was announced on Twitter. The same post confirmed that the game will only be live for about three months.

The games official Twitter account posted the news and confirmed that it will release on mobile devices sometime in February 2024. This should be welcome news for fans of the first Love life! gacha title, which was finally taken offline in March last year.

However, the same message follows with a downright bizarre twist: “However, we would also like to inform you that Global Version will close its doors on May 31, 2024 and will discontinue in-app purchases accordingly. We appreciate the love and support you have shown, and we are doing everything we can to make these last months an unforgettable moment.”

Needless to say, potential fans of the upcoming game were not happy with this announcement. “Never have I seen anyone announce a launch and a shutdown in the same tweet,” reads one reply.

“Was there a Person 5 collaboration planned?” jokes another, referencing the bad fate of gacha games like Dragalia lost And Star Ocean: Anamnesis with a promotional partnership with the popular RPG.

The whole situation with Love life! School Idol Festival 2 Miracle Live almost feels like a parody. A series of high-profile closures of gacha games have recently been announced, including the end of service for Kidney Reincarnation, which will cease operations in April.

Understandably, the fact that most gacha games seem to have a relatively short shelf life can leave fans feeling jaded. But to announce the release date of a game And subsequent closure in the same post? That’s something that’s truly unprecedented and something that I think bodes poorly for the subgenre as a whole.
