This miracle $2.30 buy transformed my filthy tiles in five minutes – and I didn’t have to scrub at all
A woman has revealed her no-scrubbing ‘miracle’ solution for spotless floors in five minutes, but the unconventional hack has left many scratching their heads.
Gina from Sydney has tried dozens of different floor cleaners to remove the mess her dogs made, but they couldn’t remove the dirt from her tiles.
She decided to use her trusty $2.30 Ultra Bleach Toilet Gel cleanser on a whim and was shocked by the sparkling results.
‘What a journey! My puppies have destroyed the tiles on my back patio due to the mud in the yard. The tiles are porous and very difficult to clean,” she explained.
‘I bought a pressure washer but it didn’t work, same goes for the 30 second cleaner. But the toilet cleaner was a success! This cost me $9.20.”

Gina shared her process in a Facebook post.
“I tested it with the dirtiest tile fist,” she said. ‘Let it sit for five minutes and wipe off the cleaning solution. It was perfect!’
“So then I covered the entire deck, used a broom to swirl the cleaner all the way around, and then rinsed it off.” No scrubbing at all. Any parts that were really built up, I just let the cleaner work longer. Hosing down took longer than cleaning!’
She also posted incredible before and after photos showing how her tiles looked ‘like new’ after a simple clean.
“After all the money and time I wasted on products for those tiles, the answer was in my bathroom,” she said.

Many were shocked by Gina’s surprising cleaning method and shared tips of their own.
‘The main ingredient in toilet cleaner is chlorine bleach, which is probably why it worked!’ one guessed it.
‘That’s great to know. Great tip for cleaning tiles,” another thanked Gina.
‘It’s great for cleaning grout!’ a woman shared.
‘I have been using the toilet gel to mop my porcelain tiles for years! It’s so good,” another added.
