This Microsoft Outlook for Web update could stop embarrassing email fails for good

Making sure your emails get to the right people will soon be a lot easier thanks to a new Microsoft Outlook update.
The email client has announced that it will be launching its contacts deduplication feature in the Outlook Web App (OWA), hopefully to reduce confusion and ensure your messages end up in the right place.
The company hopes this will put an end to duplication of contacts in your OWA address book, without users having to take immediate action.
“People are at the center of our lives, and we start every digital connection through contacts,” the statement on the Microsoft 365 roadmap (opens in new tab) read before the update. “That’s why a clean, up-to-date contact list is critical for better collaboration and productivity.”
Because it is designed for the OWA, the update is coming to web users of Outlook and Office 365 first, but may be rolled out to other users soon. The update is still listed as “in development” but has a general availability date of September 2022, meaning it should be released soon to users around the world.
The update is the latest in a series of releases of Microsoft Outlook as it seems to remain useful and relevant to users everywhere.
This includes a recent upgrade that ensures sensitive information is kept in the right circles, as Outlook now automatically adjusts the sensitivity of the email according to the label applied to attachments.
Microsoft Outlook also plans to make it easier to find important meeting documents, such as recordings, transcripts, and minutes, from within the email client itself, without having to cross over to other applications.
More changes will also be available to users when the next generation of Microsoft Outlook gets a general release soon. Currently only open to Office Insiders to try, the upgraded edition offers a number of improvements and tools, including the ability to support all kinds of Microsoft email accounts, and a new Quick Steps feature for quick troubleshooting.
