‘This is very unfair!’ Una Healy slams requirements for new ‘middle-aged Love Island’ show

Una Healy has responded to the application requirements for the new ‘Mid-Aged Love Island’ programme, calling it ‘very unfair’.

ITV’s new reality show The Romance Retreat, hosted by Davina McCall, will see single parents, nominated by their children, searching for love in a luxury retreat.

But the 41-year-old The Saturday singer, who recently made headlines amid her drama ‘throuple’, has criticized the show for allowing only those with children to apply, before declaring that she will not be performing.

Sharing a screenshot of an article about the upcoming show, Una wrote about it: “So any ‘middle-aged’ person with no kids can’t apply? This is very unfair in my eyes… anyway… I won’t apply.’

She also took a dig at the show that is touted as one for ‘middle-aged people,’ sharing a question box that asked, ‘What is ‘middle-aged’? X answer below’.

‘This is a show for single parents who have lived a life, have stories to tell about their past dates and deserve another chance at love and I’ll help you. Everything will take place in the most romantic place on the field!

We are still casting, so if you want my help finding love and you have a child over 18, what are you waiting for? (particularly eligible men… where are you?!’

Meanwhile, Una’s words come shortly after the mother-of-two declared herself “single” after reportedly ending her “feud” with boxer David Haye and his girlfriend Sian Osborne.

It comes after Una was pictured on holiday in Marrakech with former heavyweight boxer David, 42, and his model girlfriend Sian, 35, in January.

David and Sian, whom he began dating in 2020, are understood to have recruited Una in a three-way romance before Una is said to have ended the throuple.

Now Una has confirmed that she is single and is focusing on raising her two children, Aoife, 10, and Tadhg, 8, whom she shares with ex-husband Ben Foden.

She said the irish mirror: ‘I am single and raising my two children, as are many other single parents, both men and women, doing a great job.

I am a single mother, I don’t like the term single mother because it has negative connotations.

‘You can’t do it all alone, there’s no shame in asking for help, whether it’s from daycare, family or friends.’

One went on to say that she is often asked how she juggles being a single mother, but noted that men are rarely asked how they do the same, saying mothers have no choice.
