This is the moment an emotional Meghan Markle was left teary eyed at the Invictus Games during ceremony for victorious Polish wheelchair volleyball team where she and Harry handed out medals

An emotional Meghan Markle was left teary-eyed during the sixth day of the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany, as she was spotted on footage wiping away tears during a medal ceremony for the veterans.

Poland beat Colombia in the sitting volleyball final which the Duke and Duchess attended today with Veterans Minister Johnny Mercer and the many, many supporters.

Video footage captured the moment Meghan was moved to tears as the audience continued to roar with applause after she hugged and chatted with the winning contestants, who were presented with gold medals.

Prince Harry, who founded the veterans games in 2014, put a reassuring arm around his wife as they presented a united front during the competition. Meanwhile, the royal family has avoided any reference to his 39th birthday.

Meghan displayed a rollercoaster of emotions as she cheered and joked during the captivating game before breaking down in tears. Harry, on the other hand, roared and jumped for joy as the final points were scored and the match came to an end.

One by one, the winning veterans’ names are announced and presented with a medal as Harry and Meghan lean in to hug and congratulate them.

While athletes were celebrated at the Invictus Games in Germany, it was double celebration for the prince who turned 39 yesterday.

The crowd in the packed stadium serenaded the prince with renditions of “Happy Birthday” and showered him with gifts – well wishes were notably absent from the monarchy’s official social media accounts.

The palace’s official social media accounts instead spent the day posting about King Charles, Prince William, Princess Kate and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh – without mentioning Prince Harry once.

But it’s unlikely Harry had time to notice, given the couple’s busy engagement schedule and three outfit changes for Meghan.

Meghan’s first look of the day was a muted outfit, as she wore a matching cream playsuit from Zara and a Celine blazer.

To add a touch of glitz to the outing, the royal styled her hair in loose waves and wore a glamorous makeup look as she opted for fashionable black sandals.

She then chose to wear a long gray dress especially for the Team Canada reception at the Hilton Hotel.

Her last look worn during the volleyball final was a flowing navy blue shirt dress.

During a timeout in the match, Meghan clapped along to the Macarena song as it sounded around the arena.

Harry did not participate, but chatted cheerfully with the Minister of Veterans, Johnny Mercer.

Earlier today, Meghan posed for selfies with fans outside the Merkur Spiel-Arena in Dusseldorf.

She seemed only too happy to grant selfie requests from eager fans, including a group of women who urged the stylish duchess to pose for their photos.

The couple also managed to attend a reception by the Canadian delegation to promote the 2025 Invictus Games, which will feature winter sports for the first time.

Meghan chatted with members of the committee that will organize the games to be held in Vancouver – a city they know well after fleeing there in 2019 after leaving royal life.

Appropriately, it was the Invictus Games in 2017 where Meghan and Harry made their first ever public appearance.
