A one-of-a-kind home near a remote Australian town looks like it was pulled out of the desert in Mexico with a colorful facade and exterior inspired by the Central American country.

The desert oasis is located 10 km south of Alice Springs on the outskirts of Ross at the foot of the MacDonnell Ranges on a sprawling 5.7 hectare cactus-covered block.

Outside, the quaint home has a Hacienda-style exterior with an earthen stucco, ornate wooden front door, flat roof and wood detailing.

The theme continues inside as each room is a colorful display filled with whimsical Mexican trinkets from sombreros on the wall to macramé wall hangings.

Ross has not had enough sales over the past year so an average house price for the area cannot be determined, however in Alice Springs it is $515,000.
