Thiollier and St. Trina quest series for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

Thiollier and St. Trina are NPCs you will meet early in the game at the Three-Path Cross Site of Grace. Elden Ring‘S Shadow of the Erdtree Downloadable content.

At first, Thiollier is just a seller of poison-related items, but his full story – along with that of St. Trina – will take the rest of your time in the Shadow Realm to play out.

Locations Thiollier and St. Trina

You will meet Thiollier first at the Pillar Path Crossroads of Grace in Gravesite Plain. You can reach him there before tackling Castle Ensis.

Later, after entering Shadow Keep, you can find St. Trina on the Cerulean Coast on the Garden of Dieppaars Place of Graceand Thiollier will move to be there with her.

Thiollier first meeting at Graveyard Plain

There is no real rush to look for Thiollier at his original location Pillar Path Crossroads of Mercybut since his questline overlaps with Moore’s, it’s probably best to get that first meeting together ASAP before things get complicated. You can get there before tackling Castle Ensis by crossing Ellac Greatbridge and then simply turning right into the soldiers’ camp.

Once you reach Grace’s Pillar Path Cross Site and Miquella’s Cross, you can talk to Thiollier and exhaust his dialogue.

Check in with Moore after meeting Thiollier

After you have your first conversation with Thiollier, return to the Main Gate Cross Site of Grace for Belurat. Report to Moore and talk to him, and he will give you some Black syrup for Thiollier.

Go to Pillar Path Cross Site of Grace give the black syrup and then ask for the black syrup. To elect I’m tired of life next, and Thiollier will hand you over Thiollier’s brew. This is an item that you use with the Priestess of the Dragon Communion on Igon’s questline.

Break the Great Rune (and the Enchantment)

Before you can make any more progress, you need to do this break a large rune that blocks your path. You probably haven’t even seen it yet, but it’s time to get rid of it.

To break it, you have to approximation Shadow Keep. Just before you reach the front door, you’ll get a few messages — “Somewhere a large rune has been broken…” And “And that also has a powerful charm.” These both relate to Miquella and the NPCs you’ve met so far. For Thiollier and St. Trina in particular, the large rune blocked a path that you now need to get to.

Reach the Stone Coffin Fissure and defeat the Putrescent Knight

At the very southern tip of Southern Shores, there is a fissure you can climb (fall) through. That’s your next stop. Down below, you’ll find The Fissure Site of Grace at the entrance to Cerulean Coast and the Stone Coffin Fissure – this is where the rune we broke blocked your progress.

A little further on you come to the Rotten Knight and unlock the Garden of Deep Purple Place of MercyIf you do that, you will be close to where St. Trina is hiding.

Enter the tunnel at the Garden of Deep Purple Site of Grace to meet St. Trina. She is not very talkative. Do not interact with her yet. Instead, leave and then check in with Thiollier.

Return to the Pillar Path Cross Site of Grace and talk to Thiollier. Tell him where St. Trina isand he will move.

Suck the nectar

The next part of their quest line is a bit confusing (and dark). Return to the Garden of Deep Purple and talk to Thiollier.

Ignore his warnings and go talk to St. Trina. If you have the option, choose it suck nectar. As Thiollier said, this will kill you instantly. That’s the plan though, so trust the process.

Keep respawning at the place of mercy and then drinking the nectar over and over again – four times in a row — until you start hearing St. Trina’s voice on the black screen before you respawn.

Defeat Thiollier

Once you hear the words of St. Trina, go back and try to give the message to Thiollier. It will take two tries and he will not be receptive.

Absorb the nectar again (and die). In the dark you can still hear something from St. Trina.

When you respawn, you will be attacked by Thiollier. Defeat him to get the St. Trina’s Smile Talisman.

Pass on the words of St. Trina

Enter the cave and talk to Thiollier again. Drink the nectar again. Die again.

This time, if you respawn and talk to him again, Thiollier will finally hear you. Pass on the words of St. Trina to him.

Burn the seal tree

The St. Trina and Thiollier questline will take a while. You need to finish Shadow Keep, cross the Rauh Ruins, defeat Romina, Saint of the Bud, in the Church of the Bud and then use Messmer’s Kindling to burn the Sealing Tree.

That opens the Tower of Shadow and teleports you to the Enir-Ilim: Outer Wall Site of Grace in Enir-Ilim. But before you go too far, it’s time to visit Thiollier one last time.

Talk to Thiollier

Go back to the Garden of Deep Purple and talk to Thiollier – he won’t have much to say. Drink St. Trina’s nectar again, listen to what she has to say now, and then return to Thiollier.

He probably still won’t have anything to say, but this will allow you to call him up for…

Summon Thiollier to fight Leda and her allies

After you have completed all of Enir-Ilim, you will enter a large arena where you will have to fight Needle Knight Leda and her allies: Redmane Freyja, Dryleaf Dane, and possibly Sir Moore.

You can summon Thiollier and, if you’ve followed his questline, Sir Ansbach to aid you in the battle.

Thiollier’s fight is not over yet.

After defeating Leda, head to the Divine Gate for the final boss battle of the game. Before you step through the wall of mist, there will (possibly) be summoning signs for your allies, Ansbach and Thiollier.

However the fight goes, rest at the new Gate of Divinity Site of Grace, after which you will find Thiollier dead nearby, where you can pick him up Thiollier’s hidden needle And Thiollier’s set of armor. (Ansbach may also be here.)

Receive St. Trina’s blossom

Once the battle is over, return to the Garden of the Purple Deep one last time. You’ll find St. Trina dead as well, but she’s given you the… Blossom of St. Trina (quite attractive) headgear.
