A clumsy thief has been caught on CCTV tripping after trying to grab hair products from a shelf during a brazen ram raid at a hair salon.

The robbery took place at the saloon on Andrew Smith Drive in Adelaide’s Parafield Gardens in the early hours of Friday morning.

The store was rammed repeatedly around 4:30 a.m., with plants and debris flying across the floor.

CCTV footage shows two thieves entering the building and going to the back of the store.

The brash thieves were seen rummaging through shelves and snatching bottles of hair products before making off with their loot and a small amount of cash.

As he left, his accomplice is seen grabbing as many hair products as he can before making his way to the entrance.

But as he steps over the mutilated door in his frenzied haste, he trips over it and falls flat on the floor before picking himself up and fleeing.

The brazen thieves were in the store less than two minutes after the store alarm went off.

Police arrived after the two fled.

An area manhunt for the brazen thieves was unsuccessful.

Crime scene investigators were on the scene Friday morning to collect evidence.

Despite the drama and cleanup job, it was business as usual for the salon on Friday.

Police later discovered a burnt-out red Nissan Skyline on a reservation off Springbank Boulevard in Burton, five miles away, and are investigating its possible connection to the robbery.

The car was stolen Thursday from Modbury, about 9 miles from where it was dumped.

Anyone who has information about the ram raid or car fire is requested to contact Crime Stoppers.
