Ruthless thieves have ruined an Australian family’s Christmas after breaking into their home and stealing presents from under their tree.
Gail Zagami said the Grinch crept in through the back door of the family’s Secret Harbor home on La Spezia Drive in Western Australia on Friday, snatching gifts from his grandchildren.
Maddison, Rebelle, Axel and Eli, ages 7 to 11, were devastated when they woke up on Saturday to walk into the living room to find their wrapped presents missing.
“They came and told nonnie (grandma) that the elves had stolen her gifts, and when I entered the living room, we had indeed been mugged,” he told 6PR.
They had taken everything under the tree.
It comes when another family, just 2km away in Warrender Heights, also called the police to report that Christmas presents had been stolen from inside their home just hours before.

To make things even more heartbreaking for Mrs. Zagami’s family, they had planned to hand out gifts over the weekend a week before.
“We celebrate with our family today (Saturday) because it is too difficult for us to celebrate Christmas on Christmas day,” he said.
“So it’s kind of sad that the family comes today and there’s nothing under our tree.”
Gail Zagami said her heartbroken grandchildren will now have to leave without Christmas presents because of the cruel crime, but insists they won’t let the horrifying incident dampen their spirits.
“I have been raising the children alone since they were babies, since my daughter passed away six years ago,” she revealed.
‘We are a really resilient family. They are trauma kids, so they have a very good understanding. They were really amazing. They just said, ‘you know, nonnie, we know it’s not your fault and we understand.’
Incredibly, Ms. Zagami said she hoped the stolen gifts would bring the thieves’ family some Christmas cheer.
“We just want everyone to enjoy their Christmas and we just hope the gifts make someone’s day because they are your beautiful gifts.”
Western Australia Police confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that Mandurah Police received the two calls about the gruesome robberies at 10pm on Friday and then at 7:30am the following morning.
In both cases, Christmas gifts were targeted.
Ms Zagami has urged Australian families to stay vigilant.
Anyone with information regarding these incidents is urged to contact the police immediately.
