Jamie Carragher, Micah Richards and Thierry Henry hilariously quizzed broadcaster Kate Abdo on whether they would be invited to her future wedding, and the Frenchman’s response has sent social media into meltdown.
The quartet are the stars of US broadcaster CBS’s Champions League show, where they are known for their comedic camaraderie and were back in form on Tuesday night.
Arsenal legend Henry is often the subject of light-hearted ridicule on social media, with fans joking that he is in love with Abdo, and comments about the iconic striker’s reaction piled up after the presenter publicly revealed she was no longer single.
Abdo recently announced that she is dating Deontay Wilder’s boxing trainer Malik Scott and claimed in reports on Tuesday that her partner wants to officially tie the knot.
Carragher began his questions by asking, “Are we the type of team to be invited to your wedding?”

A confident Abdo hit back: “Oh here we go, I was wondering when this would come up,” as Henry theatrically raised his hands in the air and rocked back in his seat.
Richards was the next to contribute, adding: “Are you getting married to Kate?” While the 42-year-old kept her cool as she replied: “Malik wants to marry me, I can tell you that. Can you blame the man, come on.”
Her co-hosts echoed shocked reactions, culminating in Henry whistling through the silence before Carragher went on to discuss the stag dos that Malik could undertake.
Reactions on social media were quick to comment on Henry’s stunned reaction, with one comment on X reading: ‘Titi wants to cry’.
Another said: ‘Kate, stop breaking Thierry’s heart with details about your relationship.’
A third comment suggested: ‘She’s still touching Thierry’s arm……. He won’t stop trying until that ring is cemented.’
Abdo quickly dismissed the suggestion that her partner would host a bachelorette party and also joked about her dream wedding destination Las Vegas before putting Richards down again by asking about his relationship.
Richards has no wife and has never been married, but it was suggested by his fellow experts that he was in a relationship, and he tried to change the subject when questions were directed at him.
Richards was later questioned by Abdo before revealing he ‘doesn’t believe’ in marriage
Abdo said, “Malik and I have been together for six months now, so if we’re talking about weddings, then you should be talking about weddings too.”
However, former Premier League winner Richards admitted he ‘doesn’t believe in weddings’ and hilariously called for HR to intervene after Carragher questioned whether the 35-year-old didn’t like the idea of being married.
Henry tried to divert the conversation by asking about the Champions League matches being played that night, before Richards said: ‘HR, HR, you have to intervene. First it was Kate with her big shame and now it’s Jamie.’
The awkward and chaotic exchange eventually ended when Carragher revealed that Richards had messaged Abdo’s partner, Malik, on social media before the ex-Man City star demanded the band be busted in relation to the show.
