Thibaut Courtois ‘sustains an ACL injury in Real Madrid training and will likely miss the ENTIRE season’… as the Belgium international ‘leaves the pitch in tears’ after a nasty knock
Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has reportedly suffered an ACL injury that could potentially rule him out for the entire season.
The Belgian international will now undergo surgery for the problem that occurred during a training session in Madrid.
According to The athleticthere is hope in Spain that Courtois is lining up for a return to the field in April, but there are also fears his season is already over.
Multiple outlets have claimed that the Belgian goalkeeper left the training ground in tears after suffering the nasty injury.
It comes as a huge concern for Madrid that only 24-year-old Andriy Lunin has an option in goal for their season opener in two days.

The former Atletico Madrid and Chelsea shot-stopper has been a Madrid regular since joining the club in 2018.
In that time, he made 230 appearances in all competitions for Los Blancos, winning two La Liga titles and a Champions League trophy.
The injury also casts doubt on his availability for next year’s European champions, as national coach Domenico Tedesco has a big decision to make.
However, his place in the Belgium squad was far from guaranteed after his public disagreement over the captaincy of the national team.
In June, Courtois reportedly did not arrive for Belgian service after that Romelu Lukaku was named captain before him due to their draw with Austria.
In the absence of usual captain Kevin De Bruyne, Lukaku led the Red Devils with Courtois passed for the role in a pre-planned move by head coach Domenico Tedesco. Instead, the goalkeeper would captain against Estonia.
However, Courtois objected to the decision and was not present when the side gathered at their hotel to begin preparations for their next Euro 2024 qualifier.
