Thiago Silva’s wife insists the defender STAY at Chelsea, saying their family is ‘very happy’ here…
- Thiago Silva signed a new one-year contract with Chelsea earlier this year
- Questions arose about his future after he appeared to post a farewell message
- However, his wife insisted that the defender stay with the club next season
Thiago Silva’s wife has blasted reports that the Brazilian could leave Chelsea this summer.
The 38-year-old centre-back has been a key player despite his age since joining the club on a free transfer in 2020, making 115 appearances.
Silva was a key player as the Blues won the Champions League in the 2020/21 season and was a regular captain in Cesar Azpilicueta’s absence.
He’s also been one of the few first-team stars to take some credit from Chelsea’s miserable campaign that saw them languish in 11th place after Saturday’s disappointing 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest.
After the game, Silva took to Instagram to post a cryptic message to supporters, raising questions about his future despite signing a new one-year contract in February.

The Brazilian shared several emotional photos of himself acknowledging his full-time supporters, saying: ‘I want to thank you for so much affection and respect for me and my family!! I know the season isn’t over yet, but we didn’t make a season that @ChelseaFC deserves, and I’m really sorry!
“But I am honored in this way by the supporters. It is very rewarding and you can be sure I will be blue for the rest of my life!! I love you with all my strength. Thank you.’
However, his wife, Belle Silva, who has not been afraid to voice her frustration and opinion over Chelsea’s dismal campaign, shared a video on social media insisting that Silva serve out the final year of his contract with the club.
She added: “I just wanted to say thank you to everyone. Everyone who came to me for a hug, for a song outside the stadium. Thank you.
“We, my family, my husband, children and I are very happy here in London, in Chelsea.
“So my family and I are blue and we’re Chelsea and we’re staying. Go blues.’
The Brazilian has made 33 appearances in all competitions for the club this season and despite their disappointing results, the Blues’ defensive record is the fourth best in the league.
They finish the season with trips to Manchester United and Manchester City, before hosting Newcastle on the final day.
However, his wife, Belle Silva, assured his supporters that he will stay, stressing that her family is “very happy in London and in Chelsea.”
