Thiago Silva’s wife APOLOGISES for her ‘personal outburst’ after appearing to call for Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino to be sacked following the Blues’ weekend defeat by Wolves

Thiago Silva’s wife Isabelle has apologized on social media after appearing to call for Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino to be sacked following his team’s 4-2 defeat at home to Wolves on Sunday.

The Blues slumped to their tenth league defeat of the season and dropped into the bottom half after conceding four goals for the second time in four days against Gary O’Neil’s side at Stamford Bridge.

Isabelle turned to X after the final whistle and said: ‘It’s time to change. If you wait any longer, it will be too late.”

Her post appeared to suggest Pochettino should be replaced, sparking controversy as her husband currently plays under the Argentine coach. However, she has now apologised, blaming her ‘outburst’ on being ‘passionate’ and ‘saddened by defeats’.

‘I am sorry that my personal outburst as a passionate Chelsea fan has had such an impact. I am passionate about the team, I thrive on victories and I am saddened by defeats,” she wrote on X.

‘We all want the same thing: a winning team, come on Chelsea!!’

Pochettino revealed at his press conference on Tuesday that Chelsea centre-back Silva had spoken to him personally following Isabelle’s social media post in an attempt to ensure there was no tension between the two.

Pochettino declined to discuss the nature of their conversation, describing it as a ‘private’ matter handled before training.

“He came to talk to me today,” he said. ‘I’m not going to talk the way we talked. The important thing is that he came and wanted to talk to me.

‘He knows me after more than ten years, who I am, we have a very strong technical staff and the way we operate. Of course he came to talk. We have talked. It was private. And that’s it.’

This isn’t the first time Isabelle has left her husband in a potentially awkward situation.

When the Brazilian defender played for PSG in 2018, she called out manager Unai Emery and wrote on Instagram: “Tactics, tactics, tactics?” after her husband was dropped for a 3-1 Champions League defeat at Real Madrid.

Two years later, she struck out against Liverpool’s Andy Robertson after he shared a video of him skinning Jorginho during a 2-0 win for the Reds in September 2020.

Isabelle has previously questioned her husband’s managers, confronting Unai Emery in 2018

Isabelle also hasn’t been afraid to criticize her husband’s opponents and teammates

She responded on TikTok: “Chilwell is better than you, dude you even lost to Southampton.” For the record, more than 500,000 fans liked her response.

But it’s not just opponents she has criticized, she has also criticized Timo Werner for his finishing after he failed to find the net in Chelsea’s 1-1 Champions League semi-final draw with Real Madrid in 2021.

“This is karma, guys. Every team I go to has a striker who keeps missing goals… this Werner, what’s his name?” she wrote on Instagram.

In a second video, she added: “We need a goal, we need to win this match, but my attackers don’t want to score, I don’t know why they don’t score.”

Isabelle has become even more assertive since Chelsea began to disappear from major trophy contention in recent years under American owner Todd Boehly.

Isabelle has become more vocal on social media and expressed her frustrations with Chelsea’s campaign at the end of last season

She slammed Graham Potter’s decision-making last season when he left her husband on the bench after a 4-0 FA Cup defeat at Manchester City, as she wrote: “I just think going back or looking for solutions when you see a hasty and completely wrong attitude is not wrong #goblues.’

With Chelsea finishing the campaign in twelfth place, she subsequently expressed her frustration on social media.

‘Very difficult to see what I see on TV. At home the situation worsens because I don’t know how to help, what to say. Very sad @tsilva3 you are not alone,” she wrote.

Having questioned several managers in the past, Isabelle looked set to call on Pochettino this weekend, but has now insisted she is fully behind the team as they prepare to take on Aston Villa in an FA Cup fourth round repeat tonight at Villa Park.
