They’re like twins!’ Royal fans go wild over snap of August with younger brother Ernest

Royal fans have gone wild over a photo of Princess Eugenie’s son, August – and many say he’s the double of Prince Harry’s eldest Archie.

The youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York took to Instagram to announce the birth of Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank on May 30, 2023.

A beautiful photo shows her eldest son August watching over his little brother sleeping in his Moses basket.

However, many royal fans confessed that they were distracted by August’s resemblance to another member of the royal family.

Some noted that the two-year-old is the “twin” of Prince Harry’s eldest son Archie, who turned four last month.

“August and Archie are twins,” added another.

A third wrote: ‘In my family, the cousins all look alike. Windsor genes are strong. August does indeed look like Archie!’

Another commented, “Congratulations Eugenie and Jack on the birth of her son Ernest. Is it just me or does the photo of Eugenie’s son August look identical to the one we got from Archie?’

“Honestly, Eugenie could post a picture of Archie and say it’s August, I wouldn’t know the difference,” wrote another.

“We haven’t seen much of either of them, and what little I’ve seen I think they’re similar.”

Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie have had a close relationship for a long time and it is likely that their eldest children have met on a number of occasions.

Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack are known to have visited California several times over the years.

The Duke of York’s daughter welcomed her newborn son to London’s private Portland Hospital last week, just like his brother – and his mother before him.

Born last Tuesday weighing 7 pounds 1 oz, his name is a tribute to his late grandfather, Jack’s father George, who died in 2021 at the age of 72, and Fergie’s father Major Ronald Ferguson.

Eugenie also said his name was a tribute to his great-great-grandfather George V, whose middle name was also Ernest.

The newcomer is 13th in line to the throne, pushing Prince Edward to 14th.

Buckingham Palace said: ‘Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their son, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank. ‘

However, Ernest was not given a title and was not allowed to call himself His Royal Highness in 1917 according to the rules of George V.

He is the first of Elizabeth II’s great-grandchildren to be born since her death last September.

Both Princess Eugenie, 33, who is HRH, and Jack, 37, have jobs outside the royal family and do not perform any official duties. Their sons are expected to follow.

The Brooksbank’s eldest child, August, was also born at London’s private Portland Hospital, giving birth via caesarean section due to the princess’s childhood scoliosis surgery on her spine.

Their new baby is the third grandchild of the beleaguered Duke of York and his ex-wife, Sarah, Duchess of York.

The princess is a director at the international art gallery Hauser & Wirth and her husband works in marketing.

The couple got married in October 2018 after several years of dating.

On occasion, Eugenie supported her late grandmother at receptions and garden parties, but this is likely to be less common – if at all – under her uncle, who wants to create a more streamlined monarchy.

However, both she and her sister, Princess Beatrice, did attend events marking the King’s coronation and were guests of honor at a street party in Windsor.
