These women are POUT of this world! Taylor Swift, Angelina Jolie, Keira Knightley and Scarlett Johansson all have the most perfectly shaped lips, study finds

For many women, getting the perfect pout means spending hundreds of dollars on cosmetic surgery or fillers.

Now scientists claim to have discovered what makes lips look the most attractive – and warned that injectables could do more harm than good.

Making your lips too big or too small for your face can actually make you look more unattractive.

The research also suggested that Taylor Swift, Angelina Jolie, Keira Knightley and Scarlett Johansson all have perfectly shaped lips.

The researchers asked 101 people – 52 women and 49 men – to rate different facial images.

Eye-tracking technology was then used to discover which part of the face the participants were most attracted to.

The scientists found that the most attractive position of the lips was when the distance between the bottom of the lips and the chin was twice as large as the distance between the top of the lips and the nose.

The panel also rated the images highly if the thickness of the lower lip was one-quarter of the distance between the bottom of the lip and the chin, and if the depth of the upper lip was half the distance between the lip and the nose . .

For men, the space between the nose and lip should be three times the depth of the lips. Dermatologist Sebastian Cotofana from Rotterdam's Erasmus Medical Center, who led the research, said: 'The proportion of the lips in relation to other facial features is crucial when enhancing individual beauty with injectable fillers.
