These are the three things you need to stop wearing now to improve your style

A woman has revealed the three fashion items you should avoid – and what to wear instead.

Alex Collins, a fashion expert from the UK, who had sharply divided opinions about her advice on popular garments that she wouldn’t want to be found in yet.

“There are three things I stop wearing to improve my style,” she said in a video.

She’s banished shorts with frayed hems, printed T-shirts and cheap, colorful bags from her collection to brighten up her look.

1. Shorts with worn hems

Distressed and unfinished denim hems are a wardrobe staple for many, especially during the warmer months, but Alex is no longer a fan of the casual look.

‘I prefer tailored shorts or shorts without any wear marks.’

She wore a chic outfit consisting of black shorts and a black t-shirt with brown accessories to show how well-tailored shorts look much more stylish.

Alex Collins said that popular graphic T-shirts are an item you should ban from your wardrobe if you want to look more stylish

2. Graphic T-shirts

The style maven also ditches graphic tees for solid or striped shirts, saying they’re more versatile and go better with the rest of her wardrobe.

3. Cheap, colorful bags

Alex says that cheap bags in bright colors can get in the way of an elegant look.

“Instead, I opt for bags in classic colors and shapes so they are timeless and go with any outfit,” she said.

Women commenting on the video couldn’t agree on the advice, but some were fans of the “chic” tips, saying Alex’s wardrobe was reminiscent of Princess Diana.

“Beautiful style. I totally agree with all three,” said one.

“I’m 42 and thanks to you I’m learning how to dress like an adult,” added another.

“This is such good advice, timeless,” a third chimed in.

One woman agreed that Alex’s style was stunning, even if it lacked “personal touches.”

Others called the recommendations “so boring” and “joyless,” with hardly any colors other than black, white and beige.

Fans of graphic T-shirts in particular were reluctant to give them up, calling the advice to ban them “harsh.”

An unhappy woman laughed at the outfit she was wearing at the time.

“I’m not here in all three cases,” she said.
