The most misquoted lines from our favorite movies have been revealed.

At the top of the list is what many believe to be the Apollo 13 rule, “Houston, we have a problem.”

While that’s the line Tom Hanks says in the movie, the real astronaut said, “Ah Houston, we’ve had a problem.”

‘Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest of them all’ from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ is actually incorrect, because the real line is ‘magic mirror on the wall’.

A whopping 37 percent resorted to scouring the rules online to check what the actual quote was.

It also found that 38 percent of those surveyed by OnePoll use movie quotes in real life.

Film expert Boyd Hilton said: “When there are so many brilliant movie quotes to remember, it’s understandable that people get confused, even some classics from the golden age of world cinema.

“Even if a line is changed just a little bit, it can change the context of the entire movie.

‘For example, ‘Oh no, it wasn’t the planes, it was Beauty killed the beast” is the last line from the King Kong movie.

“You have to memorize the whole sentence to get the full effect.”

Clipology executive David Norman said: “There’s a whole collection of movies that deal with real-life screenplays, so it’s perfectly normal for people to use or remember the famous lines in their daily lives.”
