These are all of Apple’s iOS 17 features NOT launching in September

It’s only a few weeks before Apple fans get their hands on the new iPhone 15 and the iOS 17 operating system, but there are several key features that won’t be available at launch.

Users can expect even more accurate autocorrect, live voicemail transcripts, custom backgrounds, and more.

But Apple’s website has fine print next to four of the expected features that read, “Available later this year.”

These include AirDrop over the Internet, an update to Apple Music and an app aimed at mental health.

With AirDrop over the web, you can share content with someone, but they no longer have to stay nearby to receive it

AirDrop over the Internet

Apple introduced AirDrop in 2011 with iOS 7, which allows users to share and receive photos, documents, and more with other Apple devices nearby.

With the updated version, you can share content with someone, but they no longer have to stay close to receive it.

You and the sender just need to be signed in to iCloud and AirDrop continues over the mobile internet.

Collaborative Apple Music playlists

Apple Music will feature collaborative playlists, a wish of many users.

Apple heard their pleas and announced the update in July, which will mirror Spotify’s by letting people create shared playlists with friends who can add, remove and reorder songs.

Magazine app

Journaling has become popular in recent years as it allows people to record everyday thoughts, feelings and aspirations – and Apple wants you to carry it in the palm of your hand.

This app allows users to jot down notes about their day with photos, music, and locations.

Using on-device machine learning, your iPhone creates personalized suggestions of moments to remember and write about based on your photos, music, workouts, and more.

The software analyzes user behavior to determine a typical day, including how much time was spent at home compared to elsewhere and whether a particular day was unusual.

NameDrop to Apple Watch

Thanks to Apple, the days when you could give the annoying guy at the bar a fake phone number may be over.

NameDrop makes sharing your contact information with someone as easy as tapping your iPhones together.

A Bluetooth connection between the two devices calls for NameDrop – eliminating the need to enter the details manually, saving time.

However, Apple demoed NameDrop on the Apple Watch during its July unveiling, which is another delayed feature.

Some iOS features will be launched next month

Apple unveiled iOS 17 on June 5, including keyboard updates.

Many users have complained that their words are automatically corrected incorrectly, but the new system adds a new language model with a more accessible shortcut to go back to the original word if the system gets it wrong.

And now dictation also uses a new AI-powered model.

Apple also makes a small but powerful change to Siri in the new iOS 17: users can drop “Hey” and just say “Siri” to activate the virtual assistant.

The change is a sought-after feature by iOS fans, and it looks like Apple has finally listened to their demand.

The tech giant has announced a new feature in iOS 17 called Check In.

With this tool, you can notify family members or friends when you have arrived safely at your destination.

And another feature will change the way iOS users end calls.

While the end call button is currently in the center of the bottom of the screen, beta testers have revealed that this will change.

After the update, the End call button will move to the bottom right corner of the screen.

iMessage apps are stored in one place, usually above the SMS area.

Tap the new plus button to see everything you send most, such as photos, audio messages, and your location. Swipe up to see the rest of your iMessage apps.
