He captioned the clip: “Four simple services for a happier, healthier relationship. ‘
“Number one: don’t expect anything in your partner,” he said at the beginning of the clip.
The therapist noted that you should always keep in mind that you and your partner approach things differently and that you should not assume that you both handle situations in the same way.
He explained, “They won’t think, react, or handle situations exactly the way you do. Embrace the differences, baby, it’s liberating.”
Jeff also said that if your partner asks you for more “love” or affirmation, you should give him even more than he asked for.
“Number three: never stop flirting and courting them. Continue the spontaneous gestures of affection, the playful banter and the compliments,” he said.
Finally, the therapist noted that you should always put your partner ahead of your love for your technology.
“Number four, always put your phone in front of your sweetheart. Make sure they never feel like they are competing with your screen,” he said.
