‘Their blood’s on me’: Louisville shooting survivor describes moment colleague was shoT

A witness to the horrific mass shooting in Louisville at the Old National Bank has described being covered in blood on his colleague after the gunman opened fire on the conference room where they were holding a meeting.

Early Monday morning, a gunman with at least one “long assault rifle” entered the bank and shot several people, killing four people and injuring eight others, including two police officers. The shooter also died.

A witness who has spoken WAS11 said they watched the whole situation unfold from a conference room in the bank.

“He just started firing,” the unknown witness said. ‘I didn’t see his face. We were in the conference room. The one sitting next to me was shot, their blood is on me.’

“We have a break room. I went in, closed the door for a second and then I looked around as I opened the door to see where he was, and I saw him still shooting,” the man said.

Another man from the building said the gunman and law enforcement got into a “firefight” and saw civilians being executed.

A witness said they heard multiple gunshots and shattering glass coming from the bank on Monday morning.

“I had just dropped my son off at work on River Road,” an anonymous witness said WDRB. “I was at the traffic light and the first thing I saw was a man across the intersection and he was at the entrance of a hotel.”

At first, she said, she thought the man was just jogging, but then she noticed he was on the stairs, not the sidewalk.

Then she said she heard gunshots, with video of the scene showing at least three shots fired.

“As I was sitting at that intersection, gunfire erupted, about right above my head,” she said. “I didn’t know if it was on the couch or off the couch, I took off.”

“When I turned around, I saw that one of the windows in the bank had blown out.”

She then said she saw police vehicles moving towards the area.

“They came from everywhere,” she said. “The police came out of their cars with black guns.”

“I just dove into my car and waited there.”
