The Xgimi MoGo 3 Pro is like a Samsung Freestyle projector, but much cheaper

If you like the idea of Samsung’s cutesy Freestyle projector, but can’t justify the price (originally $799 / £899, but now available for cheaper), Xgimi’s new projector might just be what you’re looking for: it’s a fair bit cheaper than Samsung’s and is designed to be taken just about anywhere.

The Xgimi MoGo 3 Pro is almost exactly the same height as a Starbucks Venti Cup and weighs just 1.1kg. You can use it with a power bank (65W or better) for extensive portable projection capabilities, and the manufacturer promises “cinematic images and sounds”.

This is the third-generation MoGo Pro. We reviewed the very first one in 2021 , and said it “delivers the goods and a little bit more”; it “is a well-balanced product that delivers where it matters for remote workers and business professionals on the go. Easy to carry, use, and position.” That model had 300 lumens of brightness and cost $550; the third-generation model is smarter, significantly brighter than both previous models, and also less expensive — which is great, considering the best portable projectors have come a long way since then.

Xgimi MoGo 3 Pro: Key Features and Prices

The Xgimi MoGo 3 Pro is a 450 ISO Lumens LED projector with a resolution of 1080p. It is designed to project screens up to 120 inches and has an integrated hidden bracket that allows you to tilt it 130 degrees. The projector features Xgimi’s proprietary ISA 2.0 image correction technology to reduce keystone distortion, avoid obstacles, focus the image and automatically align the image on the screen.

This is Xgimi’s first Google TV projector and includes the Netflix app. You can also choose from the thousands of Play Store apps.

There are two integrated 5W Harman Kardon speakers and you can use the speaker as a Bluetooth speaker. Thanks to the Ambient Light mode, the light comes on when you play music from your phone.

In addition to the projector, Xgimi has also launched three accessories: a Creative Optical Filter to add ambiance via The Wall screensaver app; the PowerBase Stand, a stand with a built-in battery that can last up to 2.5 hours; and a carrying case. There will be a bundle that combines the projector and stand for a discounted price, but Xgimi has not yet announced pricing for that.

The Xgimi Mogo 3 Pro has an RRP of £419 (around $550 / AU$800) – £20 less than the current price of the MoGo 2 Pro – and will be available from September 6 from XGIMI.com, Amazon and other retailers. US pricing has not yet been announced, but expect it to be low: where the 2 Pro costs £439 in the UK, it’s $369 in the US.
