From a hollowed-out hot dog to a serving of bacon-laden fries that appear to be “one tone away from being alive”, here are some of the more dubious foods found in football stadiums across the UK.
Most sports fans would agree that when you go to a live sporting event, you shouldn’t expect restaurant-quality food.
Hot dogs, hamburgers and pies are the most typical purchases in stadiums and can be eaten quickly while standing around waiting for kickoff.
However, for these unfortunate souls, we cannot believe that they were actually charged for what they were served.
Football fan Jake Temperton, 22, said he felt “horrible” after eating these £5 chips at FC Halifax Town’s stadium.
The first is the unlucky 22-year-old Jake Temperton, who went to an FC Halifax Town home game against Scunthorpe.
Mr. Temperton was served pale looking French fries under extremely pink bacon, topped with a generous sprinkling of cheese.
The football fan said he felt “horrible” after eating the “undercooked” £5 meal.
After posting the uploaded chips on social media, one user quipped, “That bacon is one tone away from still alive.” Scandalous.
Next up is a half lost hot dog that a fan sent in on social media.
There’s a hole in my hot dog! This bizarre fan said he kept this on a football field
West Ham United supporter Elliot was also unlucky with his hot dog meal.
The Hammers fan was given a sausage twice the size of his bun.
Eliot posted the photo on Twitter and asked: ‘What’s the worst meal you’ve ever had at a football game? Here’s mine.’
His post became rival, receiving thousands of questionable food responses, including a tiny hot dog below.
Elliot, a West Ham fan, with his huge and bizarre hot dog
Somewhere between the size of Eliot’s hot dog and this miniature one would make the perfect meal.
At least the two hot dogs above weren’t completely burnt unlike this Man Utd fan’s cheese panini
This Manchester United fan also responded to Elliot’s tweet and showed off his ham and cheese panini he bought at Old Trafford.
The £4.70 appetizer was burned to an absolute crisp, much to the disappointment of fans.
From dodgy-looking hot dogs to even weirder burgers, it seems these fans may have had even worse meals.
One hapless fan was given a half-cooked gray burger, while another was cooked to death.
Half the grill wasn’t working on this burger?
Another example of what happens when you leave food on the grill for too long.
Is this a hamburger dog or a hot burger?
Another fan received something halfway between a hot dog and a hamburger, in the worst possible way.
George Tucker paid £2 for a tiny hot dog in a raw hamburger bun at Frome Town FC.
Posting it on social media, he said: “£2 I’ll never get back.”
Several other fans have also had to put up with burnt burgers and weirdly prepared meals, like the two below.
This fan’s apparent burger appears to have been incinerated
Maybe whoever made this burger wanted to show off their artistic skills with a very specific drop of ketchup.
Now on to the cheese fries – these football fields don’t seem to understand the meaning of melted cheese.
A Leyton Orient fan was given a completely lukewarm portion of cheese fries at Stevenage FC.
Two other fans also sent in their equally poor portions, one of them hailing from Wembley Stadium.
It seems that no stadium is safe from bad football food.
This Leyton Orient fan joked on his Facebook about these weird looking cheese fries
At least this fan has a beer to go with his meal…
Another unappealing serving of cheese fries coming!
Last but not least, and moving on to the cakes: these foods look absolutely disgusting.
One fan posted an extremely burnt and tough looking cake that was purchased from Oakwell.
Another posted a once again burnt cake that is swimming in a sea of mushy peas.
Unless this fan told us it was a cake, I’m not sure I guessed…
Whoever prepared this meal clearly tried to make up for the burnt top with a puddle of mushy peas.
