The world’s HIGHEST ferris wheel: 600ft attraction being built in South Korea will dwarf the London Eye and carry 1,400 people at once
- Seoul Twin Eye will be located on a 40-meter-high cultural complex in the capital
The tallest spokeless giant boat in the world will be built in South Korea.
Located on an impressive 40-metre-high cultural complex, the Seoul Twin Eye stands at a height of 180 meters and dwarfs the London Eye.
The striking attraction will be built in Peace Park on the edge of the Han River, next to the World Cup stadium, with views of the surrounding skyscrapers.
Described by Dutch design agency UNStudio as the first ever of its kind, it will function as a spokeless Ferris wheel with two intersecting rings.
Each ring has pods that rotate seamlessly around the inner and outer lanes.
In total, it will be able to offer rides to more than 1,400 people simultaneously in 64 pods, almost doubling the capacity of the 130-metre London Eye.

UNStudio, who collaborated with Arup and local firm Heerim Architecture on the concept, says they focused on the concept of unity as a symbol for the design.
The wheel is inspired by the Honcheonsigye, an astronomical clock that represents the movement of celestial bodies through time.
Ben van Berkel, Founder and Chief Architect of UNStudio, said: ‘Located in the heart of the city, this spokeless design references Korea’s boundless ambition for innovation and spirit of progress, seamlessly combining cutting-edge technology with a timeless appreciation for stability and beauty . .’
The Seoul Metropolitan Government says it plans to start construction around 2025, after undergoing a final phase review by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance. Completion is scheduled for 2028.
The proposal also included plans to build a monorail connecting the metro station to the Ferris wheel, as well as a zipline to provide visitors with an additional experience.
In total, the Ferris wheel will be able to provide rides to more than 1,400 people simultaneously in 64 capsules, almost doubling the capacity of the 130-metre London Eye.
