Liam Hemsworth took over the role previously held by Henry Cavill as he appeared in atmospheric new first-look footage from the fourth season of The Witcher.
The 34-year-old Australian actor was briefly pictured in a similar costume and long white wig as his predecessor in the short clip.
Hemsworth previously announced in October 2022 that he would be taking over the role for the hit Netflix series.
Netflix revealed last month that Hemsworth would see the show through to the end, after announcing it would end with the upcoming season five.
The new clip starts with a white horse marching through the mud in the forest on a foggy evening.
Liam Hemsworth appeared as Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher on Wednesday in a new first-look clip from the fourth season of the Netflix fantasy show
A hulking, shadowy figure on foot is then seen leading the horse.
A clap of thunder sounds in the distance, followed by a hair-raising neighing from the horse.
The camera switches to close-up, revealing a pendant around the man’s neck, before thundering footsteps sound behind him.
There’s a low growl powerful enough to make his hair fly, and the white-haired warrior slowly turns to face the invisible being, revealing Hemsworth’s face and golden glowing eyes.
He briefly shows a look of mild annoyance before the clip cuts to the Witcher logo and dramatic music.
Hemsworth was seen on the set of The Witcher last week, and the new clip confirms him taking on the costume and look debuted by original star Henry Cavill, right down to the flowing white wig.
According to an official synopsis from Netflix, season four sees Geralt, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) and Ciri (Freya Allan) “face having to navigate the war-torn continent and its many demons apart.”
“If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire and finding each other again,” the synopsis reads.
The series’ cast also includes Joey Batey as Jaskier the Bard, Cassie Clare as the sorceress Philippa Eilhart and Mahesh Jadu as the sorcerer Vilgefortz van Roggeveen.
Cavill revealed that he would be leaving The Witcher after the third season in October 2022.
At the time, he said he would focus on his role as Superman in the DC Universe, but those plans were quickly scuttled after DC announced that the role had been recast for an upcoming film to be directed by Guardians Of The Galaxy series director James . Gunn.
The Witcher is based on the popular series of fantasy novels by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski.
Seasons four and five will reportedly cover the events of three of his novels: Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow and Lady of the Lake.

Netflix has not yet announced a release date for season four. Hemsworth will also star in a fifth and final season
After Cavill shocked the show’s ardent fans by announcing his departure, Hemsworth announced shortly afterwards that he was taking over the role.
Liam wrote at the time that he was “over the moon about the opportunity to play” the famous monster hunter.
“I am honored that he hands me the reins and allows me to take up the swords of the White Wolf for the next chapter of his adventure,” he wrote of Cavill.
So far, no release date has been announced for season four of The Witcher.
