But now that the strike, which lasted 146 days – the second longest writer’s strike in Hollywood history – is over, fans will be delighted to know that the next season of the HBO hit show is a top priority for the network.
The White Lotus, along with Euphoria and The last of usare the three shows HBO wants to start with right away, according to Deadline.
The new season of the satirical drama will once again be written by its creator Mike White, who is still allowed under the new WGA deal.

After the end of the strike, the highly anticipated third season will only resume pre-production.

When will The White Lotus Season 3 be released?
It is not yet clear when the new installment of The White Lotus will premiere.
But given the length of the strike, the most likely release date would be late 2024 or early 2025.
HBO’s head of drama Francesca Orsi gave an update on the show in May amid the strike.
At the time, she revealed to Deadline that it was “too early to tell” how the strike would affect the show’s release date.
She said ‘The White Lotus was ideal to go in 2024’.
“We were looking at ‘The Last Of Us’ some time in 2025. And ‘The White Lotus’ was ideal to go in 2024, but there is a question about the timing of the strike.”

Where will The White Lotus Season 3 be filmed?
The black comedy is known for its lavish filming locations.
The first season was filmed in Hawaii, while the second season took place in Sicily, Italy.
Both seasons were filmed at Four Seasons resorts—Four Seasons Maui and Four Seasons Taormina—reimagined in the show as The White Lotus.
The third season will continue with another exciting destination, which is reported to be Thailand Variety.
It’s also very likely that the show’s partnership with Four Seasons will continue.
White previously teased that filming could possibly take place in Asia, in an interview with Deadline.
‘I think it would be nice to maybe go to a completely different continent. You know, we did Europe, and maybe Asia, something crazy like that, that would be fun.’
Executive producer David Bernad made a similar comment at the Berlinale series market in Germany, saying: ‘We’ve tried a lot to work in Asia and hopefully Season 3 will be our chance to make something happen there.’

White also previously teased plans for a potential Australian version of the hit series at a press conference at Sydney’s Vivid Festival.
“My dream would be to hit every continent, so yeah, it’s basically like its own continent,” he said.

He added: ‘Obviously there’s a wealth of talent here and the beauty is undeniable, so it feels like it checks all the boxes’.
What is the plot of The White Lotus Season 3?
While the full plot of the new season has yet to be released, White gave fans some insight while speaking in an HBO teaser earlier this year.
‘The first season highlighted money, and then the second season is sex. And I think the third season maybe it would be a kind of satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality.’
“And it feels like it could be a rich tapestry to do another round at White Lotus.”
He also hinted that parts of the plot from season two may carry over to the new installment.
White talked about the murder-for-hire plot involving Greg (Jon Gries), Tanya’s husband, and Portia (Haley Lu Richardson), her assistant, who began to solve the mystery.
“I think, what’s going on with Greg and the conspiracy of Tanya’s death, it’s possible that I think Portia is scared enough to just let it go, but the fact that all those guys die on the boat, it feels like there has to be be someone to track it down to Greg.’
“But maybe you’ll have to wait to find out what happens,” he teased.

Who is in the cast for The White Lotus Season 3?
While Jennifer Coolidge’s beloved portrayal of wealthy heiress Tanya McQuoid-Hunt in seasons 1 and 2 appears to have come to an end, after she was murdered and left at the bottom of the Sicilian sea at the end of last season, ‘ A number of other stars are sure to make the new installment just as exciting.
Natasha Rothwell – who played Belinda Lindsey in season 1 – has confirmed her return to the show.
In April she wrote on her Twitter, ‘Belinda is back baby!!!’
Connie Britton, who starred as Nicole Mossbacher in the first season, said that she would like to return to the show and that White wants her to be in the new season.
“He wanted me to be in the second season, and there was an idea that I loved for the character,” she said Deadline.
“Our intention is to do it in the third season. A bit of casting didn’t work in the second season and we hope to (do) it in the third season. I would love to see a spin-off on every character in that show.’
Season 2’s Michael Imperioli and Jon Gries may also make a return, though that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Fans have also speculated that Danny DeVito might appear on the show, after he was spotted having lunch with White in West Hollywood.

Jennifer Aniston also revealed that she would like to play Tanya’s sister in the third season.
Meanwhile, White previously teased that if there is a lead-up to season 1, Australian actor Murray Bartlett, who played hotel manager Armond, and Coolidge could make a return.
“I absolutely think it’s possible, we were just talking about it,” he said at Sydney’s Vivid Festival.
‘That’s a funny idea. And making Jennifer, you know, 20 years younger, that would be fun too. We can bring back Murray Bartlett.’
How many episodes will there be in The White Lotus Season 3?
The number of episodes in season three is still a mystery at the moment.
Although judging by previous seasons, fans probably shouldn’t expect an extensive number.
The first season only had six episodes, while the second season was one more longer, with a total of seven episodes.
