The first two seasons were filmed in equally luxurious Four Seasons resorts in Hawaii and Sicily.

No plot details have been revealed yet for the season, other than that it will be set in a new fictional White Lotus resort in Thailand and will focus on a new group of guests.

Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood have also been cast as new characters for season three.

Blackpink singer Lisa will also make her acting debut in the upcoming series of the drama under her real name, Lalisa Manobal.

Other cast members include Carrie Coon, Francesca Corney, Nicholas Duvernay and Arnas Fedaravicius, Morgana O’Reilly, Lek Patravadi, Scott Glenn, Julian Kostov and Shalini Peiris.

The black comedy, directed by Mike White, confirmed that production began in Thailand in February, sharing a snapshot on Instagram of a slate being used on the first day of filming.

‘Unforgettable experiences are made at #TheWhiteLotus. We look forward to welcoming new guests to our resort in Thailand,’ the caption read.

As in the first two seasons, series creator Mike will write and direct the third installment, although it is still unclear how many episodes this season will have.

The first season, set in a White Lotus resort in Hawaii, ran for six episodes, while the second season, set in a White Lotus resort in Sicily, ran for seven episodes.

While the cast and location change each season, the premise remains the same: the series follows the affluent guests of the luxury resort and the employees who care for them during their stay.

In each season there is a death. This is announced in the opening moments of the first episode. Then we go back a week to the run-up to the big denouement.

In the first season finale, Murray Bartlett (Armond) was accidentally killed by Shane Patton (Jake Lacy) when he came across a knife Shane was holding.

In the second season, Jennifer Coolidge returns as the wealthy and eccentric Tanya McQuoid. In the finale, she realizes that her husband Greg (Jon Gries) may have hired hitmen to kill her and gain her vast fortune.

Eventually she managed to defeat and kill the assassins, but Tanya later slipped and hit her head on the rubber boat, which cost her her life.

Fan favorite Jennifer previously revealed that she would like her TV husband Greg to return for season three to find closure.

“My hope for Jon is that he’s not done with Greg,” she said in Variety’s Actors on Actors interviews. “I hope there’s some payback for Greg being bad. I think he’s going to, I don’t know, end up in a meat grinder.”
