The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live: Michonne convinces Rick Grimes to go home with her after daring escape

Michonne convinced Rick Grimes that his life was with her and not the Civic Republic Military on Sunday’s episode of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.

The episode of the spin-off series titled What We opened after Michonne (Danai Gurira) grabbed Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and pulled him from a flying helicopter during a storm. They survived the fall by escaping the CRM and hid in a modern apartment in a building.

“I can’t believe you did that,” Rick said.

Michonne revealed to Rick that they had a son named Rick Junior and that she had been pregnant when the bridge exploded.

“He’s almost eight,” Michonne said.

Rick told her that he had tried everything to be with her, but they had to go back to the CRM.

“I’m trying to get us out of here alive and you’re getting us out of a damn helicopter!” said Rick.

“That’s because I don’t like who you are in front of them,” Michonne said. ‘What they make of you. It’s not you.’

Michonne asked if he would just let them win. Rick said they won the day that Jadis Stokes (Pollyanna McIntosh), who took Rick in a CRM helicopter to save him, brought him back.

“She’ll destroy our whole world if I try to leave,” Rick said. “I made her let you go. I got so much out of her.’

Rick said Jadis was threatened by them.

“We can stop her,” Michonne said.

Michonne said they could kill Jadis, but Rick said the CRM knows where to find them. Michonne then suggested that they could go back and destroy Jadis’ evidence on them so they couldn’t find them.

“We’ll kill her and then we’ll go home,” Michonne said. ‘Do you still love me?’

“I never stopped loving you,” Rick said.

Rick then looked out the window and saw that their helicopter had crashed into the side of a building.

“You saved our lives,” Rick said.

“It’s gone,” Michonne said. “So we’re out.”

“Yes,” said Rik.

“We can go home,” Michonne said. “Jadis will think we died there.”

“I’m not going home,” Rick said.

Michonne said his son and Judith talk about him and call him the brave man.

“We just found a way out,” Michonne said. “They think we’re dead and you want to stay, with an army that has held you against your will for years.”

“I need to make sure you’re protected,” Rick said.

Rick said he stayed to make sure Rick and Judith were protected.

“Do you remember the life we ​​had,” Michonne said. ‘You don’t choose to stay in prison. When the doors open, you leave!’

Rick said he wanted to stay and change the CRM from within. Michonne didn’t think that made sense.

“I don’t want to do this, I have to,” Rick said.

Michonne got angry and said she was going back to her children.

“You’re lying, you’ll see it and it’ll be too late,” Michonne said.

She walked out of the apartment and waited in the hallway, crying. She turned, looked at the door, and then left.

Rick eventually left the apartment and went after her, just as a CRM helicopter hovered towards the building. Michonne got to the lobby and saw the dead surrounding the building.

Rick ran to the lobby to save Michonne just as the CRM fired a missile at the building. They ran to the basement of the building to find a way out and escape the zombies. Rick told her that CRM had destroyed any evidence that they existed and that’s why they shot to destroy the helicopter.

“The only time I feel safe is when I’m with you,” Michonne said. ‘We don’t have to be afraid.’

“Yes, we do,” Rick said. ‘I’m not the brave man. You shouldn’t have come.’

Rick and Michonne then attempted to escape the building, killing a walker in their path. A chandelier then fell on Michonne’s leg, trapping her.

“You have to go,” Michonne said as hordes of walkers approached.

“That never happens,” Rick said.

He was finally able to lift the chandelier off her leg.

“Thanks,” Michonne said.

“You never have to thank me,” Rick said.

They fled to an apartment and Rick held her and the two kissed and then made love. Later they hugged and Rick asked about their son.

Rick said he noticed how thin the walkers were. He said he still wanted to change the CRM. Rick asked Michonne about the ‘X’ scar on her back. She said she let this woman, an old college student, into Alexandria.

“I was seven months pregnant,” Michonne said. ‘She stole Judith, and then a few other children. She was sick, damn it. I did this with Daryl.”

Michonne said they killed her and stopped looking for him for a while to take care of the baby and Judith. She saw his hand that he cut off and said he was still trying to get home.

The building started to rumble and Rick told them to leave.

“We’re not going to move forward until we make a decision,” Michonne said. “It’s not time to go until we know where we’re going.”

“You are the love of my life,” Rick said. “I couldn’t just let you go.”

“Then come home with me,” Michonne said. ‘It’s that simple.’

Michonne said she lied to him and didn’t actually know if Judith was okay. She told him he hurt her because she didn’t go with her.

“What did they take from you?” Michonne said.

“Carl, they took Carl,” Rick said, crying. ‘I lost him again. When I was taken, I fought and fought.”

Rick said his love for Michonne kept him going.

“I can’t live without you,” Rick said. “Without you I die.”

Rick burst into tears and said he was afraid of losing her again.

“When I saw you, I got so scared,” Rick said. ‘I had to be ahead of it. I had to.’

Rick said he couldn’t survive losing her. She then showed him the iPhone with Carl’s photo drawn on it.

“If Carl were here right now, what would he say?” Michonne said. “What would he like you to do with this new opportunity to be with the people you love?”

“Despite all odds, I found you, Rick,” Michonne said. “We’re going home Rick and we’ll figure out how we can protect it together.”

Rick and Michonne kissed and then got dressed to leave the crumbling building. They fought the walkers in the hall together.

They ran out of the building when it crashed and got into a yellow pickup truck parked outside. They continued kissing.

“We can make this whole damn world ours if we want to,” Rick said.

“Yes, we can,” Michonne said.

Michonne wheeled them away and Rick looked at her and smiled.
