The Voice’s Sir Tom Jones gives marriage tips to newlywed Olly Murs with viewers hailing it the ‘best advice ever’

He married bodybuilder Amelia Tank earlier this year in a lavish ceremony attended by their famous friends.

And Olly Murs turned to his The Voice co-star Sir Tom Jones for marriage advice on Saturday’s episode of The Voice.

The former X Factor star, 39, sought tips from Tom, 83, who was married to his late wife Linda for 59 years, with viewers later on

Olly asked: ‘Tom, now that I’m a married man, what advice would you give me?’, to which Tom joked: ‘Whatever she says, say OK!’

As the live audience and fellow coaches Anne-Marie, 32, and Will.i.am, 48, burst into laughter, Tom added: ‘A happy woman makes for a happy life.’

But they weren’t the only ones who found his thorough guidance hilarious.

“Lol love this,” one fan wrote on X, followed by a crying face emoji. “Literally the best advice,” wrote another.

After everyone had settled down, Black Eyes Peas star Will turned to Olly and told him he enjoyed seeing how happy he was.

He said: ‘Seriously Olly? I’m really happy for you. Real.

‘Seeing you over the years and seeing you again now is a completely different experience Olly and that’s why I want to thank you ma’am!’

An emotional Olly smiled and said: ‘I’m probably the happiest I’ve been in my life, yeah.’

Tom married his high school sweetheart Melinda (known as Linda) Trenchard in 1957, when he was just 17 years old.

Two years later, the couple became pregnant with their son, whom they named Mark.

Linda tragically passed away from lung cancer at the age of 75 in 2016 after a ‘short but intense’ battle with the disease.

Olly’s time on the show will come to an end once this twelfth series ends. Speaking ahead of the new show, the singer said: ‘I’m so proud of this show. When I started, I never thought I would be here for six or seven years.

“I’m sad to leave, but so happy to have been part of the show. I hope this series is the best yet!

This year, for the first time, groups were allowed to audition for their chance to be crowned champions.

Contestants will take to the stage in a bid to be crowned the winner of this series, securing a recording contract with Universal Records and winning a huge cash prize of €50,000 and a luxury holiday.
