The Voice: John Legend gushes over Omar Jose Cardona after he belts out Queen song on season finale
Omar José Cardona, after being saved last week, sang a Queen song on Monday during The Voice finale that left his coach John Legend elated.
A chorus of white-clad singers joined Omar onstage during his emotional rendition of Somebody To Love, carrying him on their heads as he sang some of the song’s final notes.
‘America, I don’t know what else Omar can do on this stage to show you, he is The Voice. He is The Voice,’ said his coach John, 43.

Before taking the stage, Omar, 34, of Orlando, Florida, was excited to show the world what he had learned while making it to the finals.
“The last 15 years have led me to this moment,” Omar said. ‘John has pushed me harder than I’ve ever been pushed. Now I feel like I’m finally becoming a true artist.’
When it was over, new trainer Camila Cabello, 25, was emotional.
“I’m so thankful that you exist and that a talent like you exists,” Camila said. It inspires me. Inspire everyone in this room. And regardless of what happens this week, you deserve to be here. You deserve a lot of success. you’re magical. You’re amazing.’

Omar and each of the final contestants were tasked with performing two songs during the final two-hour live show on NBC. One song was a special thank you to the people and places that meant a lot to them and the other song was an upbeat song that showed who they imagined themselves to be as artists.
Bodie, 29, of Los Angeles, was the first.
Show host Carson Daly, 49, sat down with him and went over all his performances that led him to the final. Bodie revealed that his upbeat song would be Late Night Talking by Harry Styles. He worked to modify the song to make it sound original. All four coaches gave him a standing ovation and the crowd cheered and yelled his name when he finished.
First up: Bodie, 29, of Los Angeles, came first as the five finalists each performed two songs.
“Sign me up to go on Bodie’s concert tour,” Camila said.
“To me, you have it all and it’s so exciting to see you blossom on the show,” said Gwen Stefani, 53.
John, Gwen, Camila and Blake Shelton, 46, took the stage together and performed a sweet rendition of Nat King Cole’s The Christmas Song.

After that, Team Camila contestant Morgan Myles, 35, of Nashville, sang Bonnie Tyler’s Total Eclipse Of The Heart as her animated ending song. Camila gave her the idea of having a choir back her up during the performance.
“Wow, that set this room on fire,” Carson said when he was done.
Camila excitedly stood at her desk for Morgan.

“You sell every performance,” John said. ‘Just go out there and give it your all. You sold it.’
‘Morgan, you made me want to cry during the performance,’ Camila said. I’m like a heart of steel, I never cry. But you, I just want this for you so much. As if you deserve to win The Voice.
Brayden Lape, 16, of Team Blake, dedicated Tim McGraw’s song Humble and Kind to his hometown of Grass Lake, Michigan.

“Overall, I’m very grateful for the things I learned growing up in my hometown and for being lucky enough to have had the opportunities that I did,” Brayden said.
“I always believed in you and that you had something special,” Gwen said after her performance.
“So much talent and so much in front of you, congratulations,” Blake said.
Omar dedicated his special song to his family who have stood by him through everything in his life. Omar, dressed in a silver jacket, sang Michael Jackson’s song The Way You Make Me Feel surrounded by a team of dancers.

“It didn’t sound like you were out of breath at any time,” John said. “You were doing perfect dance moves and you sounded amazing.”
Bryce Leatherwood, 22, of Team Blake, from Woodstock, Georgia, was next, dedicating Keith Whitley’s song Don’t Close Your Eyes to the state of Georgia where he grew up.
“The Bryce Leatherwood story will always begin with Georgia, my home and my happy place,” Bryce said.

For her second song of the night, Brayden performed Corey Kent’s Wild As Her.
“I just wanted to make that fun, go out and soak it all up,” Brayden said afterward.

Morgan dedicated her second song of the night, Little Big Town’s Girl Crush, to her parents for guiding her and being there for her when she needed them. The crowd chanted her name when she finished.
‘Morgan, honestly, that was really cool,’ Gwen said. The field suits you so well.

“I feel like she’s the best country singer I’ve seen since I’ve been on The Voice,” John said.
Caron and Blake told Bryce about their journey on The Voice. Bryce said his second song, TROUBLE, was by Elvis Presley, but it was Travis Tritt who made it popular. Bryce told Blake that he was excited to be in the finals.
“I’m at The Voice finale!” Bryce said. “My goal is to go out there and get people off the couch and start dancing and maybe start voting.”
Bryce, dressed entirely in black, including his black cowboy hat, strummed his guitar as he performed the song for the crowd.

All the judges were on their feet applauding Bryce when he finished.
‘Bryce, that was so much fun,’ Camila said. ‘I’ve never seen you do a performance like that. I love hearing you on an upbeat song like that.
“That was really fun and exciting and it showed a whole different side of you, I loved it,” John said. ‘That was so good.’
Bodie dedicated his special Brandon Lake song Gratitude to his three children. She thanked them for believing in him and said that she was proud to be his father. A group of dancers joined him on stage. The crowd chanted his name.

“You seem like a leader,” John said. ‘Whatever you want to do, you are a leader, you are powerful, you have that in you.’
“That was one of the most moving performances I’ve seen in a long time on this show,” Blake said.
The Voice will return Tuesday on NBC for the season 22 finale with the results of viewer voting and the crowning of a new champion.
