‘But the voice of Sir Tom; Tom Jones what a legend he is. Incredible voice!’
‘I say it every year… Sir Tom still has it, he’s incredible live too. What a voice’.
And it wasn’t just the viewers at home who enjoyed his impromptu performance.
The audience was also clearly moved when the two sat opposite each other singing.
The judges of the ITV talent show were also moved by 49-year-old Will.i.am, who looked serious as he watched the two music legends.
McFly duo Tom Fletcher, 39, and Danny Jones, 38, also seemed to enjoy the song, with Danny resting his head on his arm to get a better view of the performance and Tom appearing to have tears in his eyes.
Viewers’ praise for Tom’s flawless vocals comes after the singing legend revealed he sleeps with tape over his mouth to protect his voice.
He told The Mail: ‘I’m in good health, you have to be. I sleep on my side but my mouth is taped shut.

“I got a dry throat so I saw this would help. I used one on my nose for years to open up my airways.
‘Now that I’m older, I don’t have to look good in bed anymore. But sometimes I get up to go to the bathroom and scare myself silly.’
The Voice coach also hit out at the Britain’s Got Talent judges’ approach to the contestants, telling MailOnline: ‘Well, talent shows like that go too far. Simon Cowell did that.
‘You know, saying, “Why are you on this show? What makes you think you can sing? Who told you you could sing?” I mean… Jesus.
“The difference between The Voice and other talent shows is that they can sing. They’ve taken away those who can’t sing before the first auditions.”

Tom also revealed that his good friend Olly Murs was “really upset” that he was no longer on the show after being sacked after six years.
Olly admitted at the time that his departure had not been amicable, with the decision believed to have been made by producers who wanted to attract a younger audience by appointing new judges.
Tom said: ‘We’ve both been on tour, but when it happened we talked a lot. He didn’t want to leave, he loved doing the show.
“It really bothered him, he didn’t like it. He’s married now and has a child, so his life has changed. But it definitely bothered him.”
The Voice airs every Saturday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
