The Voice: Chance The Rapper does victory dance after scoring four-chair turn Val T. Webb as Blind Auditions end
Chance the Rapper did a victory dance after four-chairing singer Val T. Webb to complete his team on Tuesday’s episode of The Voice on NBC.
The 30-year-old coach was particularly thrilled when he defeated 45-year-old John Legend, who lobbied hard for Val to join his team.
“I can’t believe it,” Chance said. ‘I feel so bad for John. I’m officially the four-chair king.’
Chance ran to the stage and hugged Val T. Webb, who received a standing ovation and had all the coaches turning around for her after her performance of Deborah Cox’s song Nobody’s Supposed to Be Here.
Val, 43, from New Braunfels, Texas, hugged Chance, who performed an energetic dance after completing his team.

Before she made her choice, the coaches fought to get Val on their teams.
“Val, I’m so happy for you because I see the joy on your face and the little relief,” John said. “It’s very difficult to do this audition, but you handled it with such poise and grace.”
Val said she sings background vocals professionally. She then brought out her son Joshua, who she said had been asking her to join the show for the past three years.
“I want to show my children that no matter where you are in your life, never stop pursuing your dreams,” Val said. ‘Never look at your age. Don’t look at something that could be a barrier for everyone.’
John told her it would be a pleasure to work with her.
“I think we can agree that this is something very special,” says Shay Mooney, 32, of Dan + Shay. “You have such a light.”
“You’re a star,” said Dan Smyers, 36. “You’re not a backup singer anymore.”
Chance told her he would like to work with her.

“I’ve been in the business a long time and you look like a beautiful woman who loves to sing to the Lord, just like me, and we would have a great time together,” said Reba McEntire, 68.
Val then announced that she had chosen Chance as her mentor.
“I chose Chance because I saw him in season 23,” Val said. “The way he helped mold and shape his artists was just incredible, and that’s what I look for in a coach. I’m looking for someone who can bring out all that creativity.’
Chance ran onto the stage and announced that his team was full.
“The hard part is over,” Chance said.
JoeWun Bee, 27, from Largo, Florida, took the stage next. He sang Over My Head (Cable Car) by The Fray. He said he chose that song to show his resilience and talked about how his family was homeless for a time. Unfortunately, none of the coaches turned around. Chance encouraged him to practice and come back.
Shay told him not to be frustrated.
