The Voice: Camila Cabello scores four-chair singer Andrew Igbokidi as new coach builds strong team

Camila Cabello scored singer Andrew Igbokidi with four seats as the new coach continued to build a formidable team on Monday’s episode of The Voice on NBC.

The 25-year-old singer quickly turned for Andrew, 22, from Hot Springs, Arkansas, along with Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, and John Legend soon followed.

Andrew impressed the judges with his rendition of Billie Eilish’s When the Party’s Over.

“Oh, I love this song,” Camila said. ‘Oh my God!’

She got up and danced as Andrew performed, then joined Gwen to give Andrew a standing ovation.

Andrew introduced himself after his performance and said he lives in Arkansas “and I’m Nigerian.”

‘Wow. Arkansas. I’m Gwen Stefani from Anaheim, California,” Gwen joked.

Andrew, while being assessed by the judges, said he also applied to medical schools and revealed that he had already been admitted to four schools.

‘Andre. Andrew. Andrew!,” Camila said before gushing over his performance.

The X Factor veteran reminded Andrew that she has experience with a singing competition show and could help him deal with the pressure and nerves.

“And there is no other singer like you on my team. I’d love to be your coach,” Camila told him.

Andrew eventually chose Camila as his coach and she got up with both arms in the air.

“It’s my turn with four chairs again,” Camila boasted.

Andrew admitted backstage that he intended to pick John, but changed his mind at the last minute.

“Camila, she’s done a singing competition before, so I think she understands the performers that way, and it seemed like she really wanted to work with me,” Andrew added.

Andrew kicked off the third two-hour episode of Blind Auditions and he was followed by Cara Brindisi, 34, of Worcester, Massachusetts, who sang the Taylor Swift song All Too Well.

Before her performance, Cara expressed her preference for Blake, 46.

“Over the years, looking at the way he coaches, it would be very exciting to get that experience,” said Cara.

Blake turned for Cara along with his wife Gwen, 52.

“So, anyway, Blake has to take his meds,” Gwen said.

“She’s not actually kidding. She put that alarm on my phone for me,” Blake said.

John, 43, asked Cara who she chose as her coach and she said, “I really didn’t expect this, but my gut feeling is Gwen.”

Cara said afterwards that Blake and Gwen were her “top two”, but Gwen won her over when she explained why she would be a good fit for her team.

Valarie Harding, 41, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, got John and Gwen to turn around for her rendition of Curtis Mayfield’s song Giving Him Something He Can Feel.

She chose John as her coach.

Julia Aslanli, 23, of Orlando, Florida, played Al Green’s Let’s Stay Together and joined Gwen’s team when she was the only coach to turn around.

The Dryes husband-wife duo Derek and Katelyn from Nashville sang Islands In The Stream made famous by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton and got Gwen and Blake spinning.

They chose country star Blake as their coach.

Ava Lynn Thuresson, 18, of Santa Barbara, California, recorded the Britney Spears pop song “…Baby One More Time” and had Camila and John turn their seats for her soulful rendition.

“Everything about you suits me, and I have a feeling that even John will tell you that himself,” Camila joked.

Camila again leaned on her singing competition experience and Ava Lynn chose her as her coach.

They celebrated by taking a selfie together.

Madison Hughes, 25, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, played guitar when she performed the Bob Dylan classic Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door and got seat changes from Gwen, Camila and Blake.

She chose Blake as her coach.

Sasha Hurtado, 18, of Dallas, Georgia, performed River by British singer-songwriter Bishop Briggs and got John and Camila to turn their seats.

Classic rock: Madison Hughes, 25, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, played guitar while performing the Bob Dylan classic Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door and got seat changes from Gwen, Camila and Blake

John insisted that he first turn his chair and predict that Camila would bring up her singing competition show and speak to her in Spanish.

Sasha chose Camila as her coach.

Dominic Patrick, 37, of Philadelphia, played U Got It Bad by Usher, but failed to get one of the coaches to turn around.

Morgan Taylor, 20, of Carmel, Indiana, was the final contestant and was named Cuz I Love You by Lizzo.

She got all four seats to turn and ended her performance by hitting incredibly high notes.

The Nashville singer and student at Belmont University chose John as her coach.
