The Voice: Blake Shelton looks to win again in his last season on NBC show after his finalists sing

Blake Shelton was on the verge of winning The Voice for the 10th time as his singers Grace West and Noivas delivered amazing live final performances on Monday.

The 46-year-old country star previously announced that season 23 of The Voice would be his last after serving as a coach since the show premiered on NBC in April 2011.

Blake went into the two-hour finale with an extra singer as Kelly Clarkson, 41, and new coaches Niall Horan, 29, and Chance The Rapper, 30, each of whom had only one act left in the competition.

Host Carson Daly, 49, asked Blake how he felt during his last ever week on The Voice.

“I’m trying to absorb this. I mean it’s crazy. I want America to know and show the people who vote for this show that the other three coaches ruined this experience for me,” Blake joked. “Keep that in mind when you vote tonight…”

“No congratulations or high fives, no presents or anything. …It’s almost like this isn’t happening,’ Blake continued.

“You’re such a liar,” Kelly objected playfully.

The five finalists were assigned to sing an up-tempo song and ballad during the two-hour finale and Grace, 19, from Canton, Michigan, opened the show with a strong rendition of The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia.

During rehearsal, Grace was asked what it meant to be on Blake’s last team.

“It has meant the absolute world to me and to your last season, being the last person you turned your chair for, the last country artist. It’s weird. It gives me a little creep, but it’s so cool,’ Grace said.

Grace chose the Reba McEntire version of The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia and Blake praised her choice of a song by the soon-to-be new coach on The Voice.

“Grace is only 19 years old, but I don’t know I’ve worked better with a country singer,” said Blake.

After rehearsal, he said Grace could be the last person to win for Team Blake.

“I mean, it’s so close to a perfect moment on this show for me,” Blake said.

Grace wore a fiery red outfit during the performance, and Kely praised her “really beautiful falsetto.”

Blake told her that her live performance was “just incredible.”

For her ballad, Grace sang Patsy Cline’s country song She’s Got You, which showcased her pleasant tone and soaring vocal ability.

Blake said afterwards that it felt like the finale had just broken up, despite the show being half way through.

“I’ve been watching this tonight and, man, everybody sounds really good. Everyone is great. How will someone choose? Then you just did. And now people are starting to choose from that. That was incredible, Grace. Congratulations,” Blake said.

Blake stood up after his finalist Noivas, 30, whom he stole earlier this season, delivered a unique rendition of Chris Stapleton’s song Cold, telling him he “killed it.”

The soulful pop singer from Texas chose his uptempo song Fly Away by Lenny Kravitz.

“This process has been life-changing. Blake helped unlock something in me that allowed me to go to that next level. I want to help bring home this last trophy for Blake,” Noivas said.

Blake had a lot of praise for Noivas after his rocking performance.

‘Congratulations dude. You said you were going to do this, you did it, you killed it. Congratulations,” Blake said.

New coach Niall also got strong performances from his finalist Gina Miles, 18, of Paxton, Illinois.

Gina swung to the fences and chose the Taylor Swift song Style for her uptempo song and the Sinead O’Connor song Nothing Compares 2 U.

“I’m so proud of you, that was absolutely incredible. So glad we chose that number to send you out before the votes open. That was a special moment on The Voice for me. I won’t soon forget that one,” Niall said after Gina ended the show with an impeccable rendition of Nothing Compares 2 U.

Niall said Gina had “something special” when he urged viewers to vote for her.

Kelly was also pleased with her finalist D. Smooth singing What You Won’t Do For Love for his uptempo song and My, My, My for his ballad.

Chance was represented by sister trio Sorelle who sang Ain’t No Mountain High Enough for their uptempo number and the Lady Gaga song Million Reasons for their ballad.

The final episode also featured an appearance by Alex Newell, 30, singing Independently Owned from the Tony-nominated show Shucked.

Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi, 26, also performed his new hit Wish You The Best.

The Voice returns Tuesday with the results of the viewer vote, the crowning of the season 23 champion and a farewell to Blake.
