The Voice Australia gets mixed reviews as new judges join series – with some slamming the show for too many ads while others predict it will be the best season yet: ‘A festival of mediocrity’
The Voice Australia returned for the 2024 season on Monday night.
With a new jury team and a bunch of talented singers, the reality show received praise – but also scorn – from viewers.
Several people shared their thoughts with X. Many said the new series looks promising, but others complained about the constant commercial breaks.
‘Free channels wonder why they are losing viewers. I went to bed to watch The Voice and not the occasional song, while there were too many commercials and promos for what was to come, someone complained.
Another said, “Of course we need another commercial break,” adding a series of eye-rolling emojis.
One viewer shared his thoughts on the episode, writing: ‘A festival of mediocrity, peppered with interruptions for sponsors’.
“Too much filler and not enough vocals,” someone else complained on the social media site.
Others were excited about the new season and impressed by the skills of the participants.

Outgoing coaches Rita Ora, Jessica Mauboy and Jason Derulo will not reprise their roles on the popular show.
According to a production insider, the reason for the change was the star’s salary and the producers’ desire to keep costs down.
The decision was made last year and the casting team had been looking for a while, the insider told Yahoo Lifestyle.
The insider added that salary increases are needed to keep returning stars on the show and that the price tag for the previous batch was “too expensive.”
‘The company argument was that Jessica, Rita and Jason were all too busy, but I don’t think anyone is too busy to collect these kinds of salaries.
“It definitely had to do with keeping costs down.”
