Whoopi Goldberg has opened up about her sexuality in a candid new interview, after a former co-host told her she exudes “lesbian vibes.”
Whoopi, 67, was eager to address the rumors about her sexuality when she spoke to Raven-Symoné and her wife Miranda on the latest episode of The Best Podcast Ever.
The Sister Act star confirmed once and for all that she is “not a lesbian,” but said she has many friends who are and also enjoys portraying lesbians on screen.
Whoopi was forced to clear up the speculation about her sexual orientation when Raven admitted she had had her suspicions while working alongside her on ABC daytime show The View from 2012 to 2016.
“I want to dive into your business for a second, this is a safe place,” Raven, 37, told Whoopi as they videotaped the podcast.

“Honestly, when I was with you, I loved you so much, like I wanted to be under my stomach all the time! But that’s also because you gave me some kind of lesbian vibes!’
The three women laughed at the comment before Raven added, “But sometimes, oops, you give me lesbian vibes, you give me stud vibes…”
Miranda then intervened and said, “I think this is Raven’s secret fantasy!” I think she just wants everyone to be gay and she really hopes you come out here now.’
‘It is!’ Raven admitted it and then said, “So if you want to tell us something, oops, you’re welcome!”
Whoopi didn’t seem at all fascinated by the series of questions, replying, “Women have been asking me this as long as I’ve been here, I’m not a lesbian.” But I know a lot of them, and I’ve played them on television.’
The mother-of-one continued, “But I’ve always had lesbian friends because they’re just my friends,” before recalling a conversation she had with one of her friends.
“I’m not going to kiss you, but I’m kissing you here, I’m going to do this, but I’m not going to do this… And they say, ‘Okay!'” she explained.

‘That makes me happy because I can also say to all those people who judge the lesbian community or the gay community that there is something beautiful about a woman who can embrace her masculine and feminine at the same time and wear it so well. like you,” Raven replied.
“It’s fantastic, you’re not one or the other, you’re just a human being living in your body and not really related to sexual orientation or anything like that. It’s just the way you present and it’s so heartwarming. You live so well in this duality, and I just want to congratulate you for that,” she added.
Whoopi’s comments about her sexuality come after she admitted earlier this month that she wishes she’d never been married, despite being married three times.
Speaking to The View on Aug. 1, the Academy Award-winning actress admitted that she was “dancing and prancing” every time her marriage came to an end.
Whoopi has been divorced a total of three times, and her last marriage to union organizer Lyle Trachtenberg ended in 1995.
The Ghost star admitted that by the time her third marriage was over, she felt like it was “getting expensive and boring,” hinting that it was one of the reasons she never said “I do” again – despite high-profile romances with actors Timothy Dalton and Ted Danson.
Whoopi’s first marriage was from 1973 to 1979 to a drug counselor named Alvin Martin.

After her film career took off, she married cinematographer David Claessen in 1986, but that was not the intention as they divorced in 1988.
Whoopi married her third and final husband, Lyle Trachtenberg, in 1994, but they separated the following year.
After her third divorce, she had a live-in relationship with actor Frank Langella and playwright David Schein.
Her other ex-boyfriends include businessman Michael Visbal, orthodontist Jeffrey Cohen, and cameraman Edward Gold.
