Whoopi Goldberg has admitted to scattering her mother’s ashes in a very unusual location, but has issued a warning to dissuade fans from following in her footsteps.
The 68-year-old host of The View published a moving memoir in May that she dedicated to her mother, Emma Harris, who lost her mother to a stroke in 2010.
Whoopi often talks about their close relationship, including how dependent she was on her “remarkable” mother and how the great loss changed her life.
Recalling a special trip to Disneyland with her mother, the actress-turned-comic-book writer says she returned to the adventure park after Emma’s passing to remember happier times.
During the trip, she also decided to secretly scatter her mother’s ashes at It’s A Small World, the ride she and her mother enjoyed the most.

Whoopi admitted to committing an unusual act during a speech Late Night with Seth Meyers.
The star began her anecdote by begging her fans to do the same.
“Nobody should have to do this. My mom loved Disneyland, so we took her to Disneyland. She loved Small World,” she said.
The actress added that she pretended to sneeze while scattering Emma’s ashes so that no one would know what she was doing.
Whoopi said, ‘During the Small World ride I would occasionally pick up some of hers and here’s what I did.
“I said, ‘Oh my God, this cold is getting worse and worse.’ And then we got to the flowers that said Disneyland on them, and I thought, ‘Look at that!'”
However, after the ride, Whoopi felt guilty and decided to warn the staff about what she had done.
She said: ‘I told them I did it. I wanted to make sure I hadn’t done anything dangerous because it hadn’t occurred to me. But there’s a reason they don’t want ash floating around.’
