The View’s Whoopi Goldberg accuses Joy Behar of ‘overshadowing’ her after her 80-year-old co-host’s PHONE started ringing live on air as she spoke

Whoopi Goldberg accused one of her The View co-hosts of trying to “shadow” her on Wednesday’s broadcast.

Just a day after walking off the set of the ABC show, 67-year-old star Joy Behar called out after suffering a technical blunder just after the broadcast.

Goldberg kicked off the show by reviewing Ron DeSantis’ recent interview with Jake Tapper and was curious to hear what Joy, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin thought of it.

However, when she began the conversation, a ringing tone was heard and Goldberg stopped midstream to ask Behar, “Did your phone really just ring?”

Behar clearly felt a little embarrassed and lied, “It didn’t!” before telling Whoopi, “Ignore it!”

“Well, it’s hard, it’s hard! Whoopi fired back, before continuing with the segment, saying, “It kind of seems like I just got overshadowed by her phone, Rob DeSantis got overshadowed by you know who the last possible indictment is…”

Behar clearly saw the funny side of her dig and giggled before the show was cut to a snippet of DeSantis’ interview.

During the interview, Tapper asked DeSantis outright whether Donald Trump “should be held accountable” if there is evidence of crime, to which DeSantis replied, “I hope he doesn’t get charged.”

When it came back to the panel, the leading panelist was eager to share her thoughts on DeSantis’ words.

“What’s interesting about the fact that a lot of these people that you’ve talked about don’t even say or admit that anything wrong has been done — it’s because they want to do the same thing,” she claimed.

“DeSantis wants the same kind of land. I believe he also wants to be a dictator. I think many of these people who defend this find this an interesting prospect.’

Behar’s broadcast certainly didn’t go unnoticed by viewers tuning in at home, as one person tweeted, “@ABC Why aren’t they requiring the hosts to leave their phones behind the scenes? Is it really that hard? They’ve been working for less than an hour.’

This isn’t the first time this week that Goldberg has been involved in some kind of aerial drama.

On Tuesday’s episode of the show, the Ghost actress walked off set after a heated argument over the viral video of Miranda Lambert punching fans at a recent concert.

Lambert, 39, suffered a seizure on Sunday when members of her audience posed for selfies while she performed on stage. The country singer said it was her “p*****” and she called off the show.

After showing the entire clip, Hostin, 54, confirmed how much some fans had paid for tickets and sided with the concertgoers, saying she would “take as many selfies as I want if I paid $757 for tickets.” . I’m sorry, just me!’

Goldberg disagreed and used Hostin’s point against her by siding with the country superstar.

‘You know what? Stay at home. If you’re going to spend $750 to come to my concert, give me the respect to watch me do my thing, or don’t come,” Goldberg said before walking out moments later.

Hostin responded by saying that she usually takes photos during concerts to preserve memories.

“Maybe I want to play it again,” she said. “Maybe I want the photo and the music in the background.”

Goldberg then got fed up and left her seat, telling Hostin to “turn on the telly, girl” before walking off to the shock of the remaining cast.

“I’m going to leave you all!” she exclaimed when her co-hosts asked where the Sister Act star was going.

Then, in a brazen attempt to prove her point, she walked up to a woman in the audience and said, “I want to take a picture with this amazing woman, who is 91.”

So let’s take a selfie. Just you and me. Do you want to press that button?’ she asked, before putting the show into a commercial break.
