Alyssa Farah Griffin, The View’s stalwart Republican co-host, revealed her surprising support for the president on Election Day.
The former Donald Trump staffer, 35, said on the show Tuesday that she switched parties and voted for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris because she was disappointed by Trump and the Republican Party’s “inability to rebuild.”
She said on The View: ‘Four years ago today, I was at the White House with Donald Trump on election night. I thought he deserved to lose that night [in 2020]at that moment.
“I thought he didn’t fight to win the election, but I thought over the next four years the Republican Party would rebuild and become something I could believe in and turn the page on Donald Trump, and that didn’t happen .
“So this weekend, on Saturday, I voted for a Democrat for the first time in my life.”

“I voted for Kamala Harris,” she said, adding that she “voted for Republicans” over her remaining race decisions.
Griffin added, “I consider my voice on loan to her.”
“I worry about the direction Donald Trump will take this country, and I take my own warning seriously.
‘What I saw is very real. I’m a Christian, I’m an American and I’m a Republican, in that order, and I need someone who shares my values.
“I need someone who is kind and decent and who will bring this country together,” Griffin said.
Still, she added of Harris, “I don’t agree with many of her policies.”
“We can criticize that later, but today is about a better future and I think the best thing for the country and the future of the Republican Party is that Donald Trump loses and Kamala Harris is elected.”
Griffin, who interviewed Harris on The View last month, quit her White House gig in December 2020.
She previously explained that she did so “because I didn’t feel comfortable with the lies about the election.”

She was among Trump officials who texted White House chief of staff Mark Meadows to have the then-president recall the mob during the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
While she called Jan. 6 a “horrific day,” she added, “That was just kind of a summary of who Donald Trump, the man, is.”
“He is the person with the lowest moral character I have ever worked for,” she said.
Griffin then warned what could be expected in a second term.
“The first term you had people like Vice President Pence there – an imperfect actor – but someone who I honestly think tried to guide him in the right way and keep him focused and within the bounds of the Constitution,” he said. them.
She said people like this wouldn’t be welcome for round #2.
“They don’t want Ronald Reagan Republicans, they want Tucker Carlson Republicans, so buckle up, guys,” Griffin said.
