The View’s Ana Navarro is responding to claims she has taken Ozempic to help her lose weight

Ana Navarro spoke about her weight-loss journey in an Instagram post on Sunday when she was asked by a follower if she was on the medication Ozempic.

The View personality, 51, posted a photo of herself in a black dress on a weekend trip to Ciudad Amurallada, Cartagena, Colombia, noting that she had gone there to celebrate her boyfriend Lee Schrager’s birthday.

“When your best friend is @leeschrager and he tells you he wants a weekend away for his birthday, say, ‘Tell me where and when, and I’ll be there,'” Navarro captioned the social media post. “He got his three best friends to drop everything and come to Cartagena to celebrate.”

In response, a commentator suggested that the political strategist had used the medication to help her lose weight.

“When are you announcing you’re in Ozempic?” asked the commentator. ‘It will help others. It functions. It’s the real thing. It provides the willpower needed to stop eating. It clearly corrects an insulin imbalance that we must have.”

The Chinandega, Nicaragua-born TV personality replied that she was being posted about [her] weight loss journey many times’, in which she discusses in detail the latest measures she has taken in recent years.

Navarro, who was involved in the late Senator John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign, said, “I’ve struggled with my weight all my life,” adding that “the pandemic and menopause made it worse.”

Navarro said her mother’s death in 2021 from kidney disease brought on by diabetes — “She suffered terribly for the last few years of her life,” she said — spurred her to become proactive in her quest for better health.

“Last August, I went with two of my friends since grade school to a wellness spa in Mexico called @rancholapuerta,” Navarro said. ‘We had all turned 50 and wanted to live a healthier life. I spent time there learning how to cook and eat healthier, reprogramming the way I think about my lifestyle and being more active.

“We did all kinds of exercise classes for hours a day.”

Navarro said when she and her friends returned to Miami, they were “determined to continue some of our healthy habits.”

Navarro said she “also sought professional help” in the form of a nutritionist, Pilates coach, pickleball coach, and medical supervision.

She said she lost between four and five pounds a month during her weight-loss journey.

In response to Navarro’s post, a commentator suggested that the political strategist had used the medication to help her lose weight.

Navarro has been featured on The View since 2013 and was named permanent cohost last year

“It’s been a complete lifestyle change — except for the damn rosé and margaritas, which I can’t give up,” Navarro said.

The CNN personality said she’s “not equipped to give anyone advice or endorse a solution,” because “we all need to figure out what works for all of us.”

She ended by saying, “It’s a daily struggle for me. I still really like tequila and staying in bed with my poodle…” with a shrug emoji.
