The View’s Sunny Hostin has admitted that she once ditched her best friend’s wedding because she hated the “ugly” bridesmaid dress she had to wear on the big day.
The host, 54, made the controversial admission during Wednesday’s episode, telling her co-stars Whoopi Goldberg, 67, Sara Haines, 45, Joy Behar, 80, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, 34, that her friend knew how much she hated her. the ‘hideous’ outfit.
“I had to turn one down (wedding),” Sunny said, revealing that she wasn’t a fan of her friend Kathy’s fashion choice — an admission that left her co-hosts stunned into a very rare silence.

Sunny’s blunt admission came after Whoppi revealed that a woman had written a resignation letter for a bridesmaid because taking on the role at multiple weddings had depleted her bank account.
“After the past year and a half, three weddings, and an amount of money I don’t want to think about (exactly $4,634.50), I hereby declare that I am retiring as a bridesmaid,” she wrote in an essay published by Glamor .
“To my dear friends, dear family and perhaps even future friends: spare a thought for the discarded bouquet.
“Spare me future pleas for a bridal party. I adore you all, and I mean it when I say I would do almost anything for you. But one more time in a satin dress? That’s where I draw the line.’
Despite backing out dramatically on her friend’s big day, Sunny continued to insist that she does indeed love a wedding.

Sunny married her husband Emmanuel in 1998, and the couple recently celebrated his birthday at the US Open
“I love a wedding, but I’m more of a professional wedding crasher,” she said. ‘Like I like to see the love in the room, eat the food and drink the drinks.
“I love dancing, any wedding, but the average cost of a bridesmaid wedding is about $1,800, and you do your job.”
Sunny himself is married to orthopedic surgeon Emmanuel Hostin, and the couple tied the knot in 1998.
The couple have two children together; son Gabriel, 21, and daughter Paloma, 17.
Sunny’s bombshell comes just weeks after her co-stars were noticeably absent from her book signing, with only Joy showing up to support the event.
The mother of two was in Bridgehampton in late August to meet fans and sign copies of her Summer on Sag Harbor: A Novel.
