The View is being criticized for ‘disrespect’ for Morgan Freeman with an incredibly ‘short’ interview – while viewers SLAM Whoopi Goldberg and her co-hosts for wasting the actor’s time with their ‘pointless chatter’

The View annoyed fans for the second day in a row after “disrespecting” actor Morgan Freeman by giving him less than 10 minutes on screen.

The 86-year-old joined Whoopi Goldberg and co-live in the studio to discuss Life on our Planet, the new Netflix series he narrates – but viewers were outraged by his ‘brief’ appearance and called out the ABC program ‘bulls**t’ .

“I had a question, but we’re out of time,” Whoopi said as she quickly wrapped up the conversation with the Hollywood heavyweight – just a day after she was reprimanded online for “cutting off” co-host Sunny Hostin during a discussion about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The panel was criticized for engaging in “pointless banter” instead of dedicating another segment to Morgan after his short seven-minute appearance.

Another wrote: ‘It’s a shame to leave legend Mr. Freeman only to give one segment! #TheView,” and a third suggested: “@theview should have spent the time spent on nonsensical banter on Morgan Freeman.”

Referring to today’s topics, one angry viewer tweeted: ‘What the hell do you mean #theview ran out of time? Instead of talking about whether or not an abortion happened and the cheesecake date! Mr. Morgan Freeman should have had 45 minutes of RESPECT! SMH (sic).”

Someone else raged: ‘@TheView HEY DaView producer, Morgan Freeman is an icon. You guys totally disrespected him with a 10 minute segment. This is nonsense!’ and another moaned, “The Morgan Freeman segment was too damn short.”

Another wrote: ‘A career spanning six decades and nothing to talk about on #TheView…really?’

The groundbreaking nature docuseries follows life’s extraordinary journey to conquer, adapt and survive the Earth over billions of years.

“I’m one of those people who is very interested in this subject, life on Earth,” Morgan said. “You understand that life on this planet is in a bit of trouble these days and we are the cause of it.”

He continued, “If I remember correctly, six extinction-level events have occurred since the beginning of life. I mean, six times big, big chunks of life just away, destroyed.

‘We are heading into a new one and scientists have said that if we don’t hurry up and change our ways, there will be a cataclysmic event that will wipe many of us off the face of the earth.

“Well, you look back and this series does that: how far back did life exist on this planet and why does it still exist? That’s because life is tenacious. To live. We’re not talking about people here, we’re talking about the planet. She’s staying.’
