Barbara Walters sparked concern among The View fans when they wondered how she’s doing after her 93rd birthday.
The journalist has largely stayed out of the limelight since she retired in 2014 after a career spanning more than five decades.
On Monday’s episode of the ABC show, co-host Whoopi Goldberg wished the show’s creator a happy birthday.

Barbara created The View in 1997, with the aim of getting women of different generations and walks of life to discuss the issues of the day.
Through numerous lineup changes, Barbara remained on the show as a panelist until she decided to retire in 2014.
Her last public appearance was in 2016 when she attended the New York premiere of Woody Allen’s film Cafe Society.
Of The View’s original lineup, consisting of Joy Behar, Debbie Matenopoulos, Star Jones, and Meredith Viera, Joy is the only one to remain on the show.

Whoopi joined the show as moderator in 2007, Sara Haines and Sonny Hostin both joined in 2016, and Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin were added as full-time members of the panel this year.
Barbara hasn’t appeared in public since 2016 and was noticeably absent from The View’s 25th anniversary celebrations earlier this year.
To celebrate the milestone, the original hosts had a reunion at New York’s Essex House, where they auditioned for the first time.
The current hosts also celebrated the 25th anniversary with a vacation to the Bahamas.
