The Veronicas say goodbye to Australia for good and move permanently to the United States next year.

After a prolific writing session with John Feldmann and Travis Baker of Blink 182 in Los Angeles in July, Jess and Lisa Origliasso, 37, have their sights set on international fame.

While the twins are “sad” to leave the house, they said it was time to return to the country where they had their big break.

“We all started in the US and it’s always been a major focus for us,” Jess told the courier post. ‘We will also sign the management there and we feel that the future for the Veronicas is there.

“We are sadly leaving Australia, which is a shame, but we are very excited to really connect more with all our fans on an international scale.”

They said the US was always in their future, but in recent years they had returned to Australia to care for their mother, who died last September of progressive supranuclear palsy.

During a number of big gigs in Australia, the sisters signed a seven-year contract with Sony Music, which expired earlier this year.

Since their break with the record label, they have been spending more and more time in the US with their American partners, Logan Hoffman and Alex Smith, while playing in the studio with Feldmann, 55.

The Veronicas have known and worked with Feldmann since their 2007 hit Hook Me Up and even introduced boy band 5 Seconds of Summer to him, starting their own foray into the US music market.

“John always has us doing sessions when we’re back in LA and last time we were there to work on some songs he said, ‘You should release this on my label, we want the new Veronicas- stuff,” said Jess.

They signed a deal with Big Noise record label in Malibu the next day with new music already slated for release in 2023.

The inaugural When We Were Young event in Las Vegas in October has already bagged the pop sisters, booking them alongside Green Day, Blink 182, The Offspring, 30 Seconds To Mars, Good Charlotte and 5SOS.

The Veronicas aren’t the only Australian musicians leaving for the big wigs in the American music industry.

Rufus Du Sol, Dean Lewis, Flume, Tame Impala, 5SOS and Alison Wonderland all made it across seas to gain worldwide fame.

Some festivals in the US are also eyeing Tones and I for next year.
